We got approved!!!

NOA1 new website - January 29th

NOA2 - August 9th

I checked my email this morning first and I had one from USCIS that said 'we have taken action on your account, please log in to check' which sounded strange, and worried me a bit. But when I logged in to the new website, it said we were approved!!! We are so happy we can barely focus at work haha.

And yes, we already updated our timeline. 😉

Congrats!  So happy for you!  :)

For all those who are out of processing time, have you guys filed and inquire? I know they tell you to wait 45 days for an  answer, but if so anyone after this has received approval faster? It feels like a scam, hahaha like they just want to gain more and more time so it doesnt feel that filling inquire makes much difference and you still have to wait till they want.

I just sent in a colored photocopy of my birth certificate with my petition and I was approved yesterday so I think just a copy is fine.

We inquired three days ago (on our 215) over a phone and were told that we would be getting something in mail by August 22nd or earlier. I don’t know what that “something” is, it might be a letter saying that they need more time. We also weren’t given a reference number everybody’s talking about so it kinda raises some doubts 😂 But well, we shall see... “Trust the system, trust the system...” 🙈😊

My fiance called just now, told them the same answer as always. And if he wished he can inquire by thursday next week. I wished he could be more persistant, try to talk to a tier 2, but he says he doesnt want to bother them and pissed them off. Ugghh I wish its me who could call. I would be very nice but try harder to get info. Sucks another weekend without any news. Feel very sad 😞

Honestly, tier 2 is unhelpful almost 99% of the time that you call. The people who answer mostly verify your information, tell you it's been received and tell you wait, because there's nothing else they (or you) can do.

Your time IS coming. Also, you can call USCIS. It doesn't have to be him. :)

From my experience calling tier 2 has only been useful if you want to make an official inquiry, otherwise they seemed less enthusiastic about helping

There were a LOT of angry people between May - October 2017 that were less than impressed with USCIS and their phone call etiquette.

I feel for them, though. They can't tell you anything more than the website tells them. That much is fact. They're not withholding information, they just don't have access to it.

It's like a glorified call center. You think that those people are the ones stamping your paperwork, but they're just making sure the phones get answered and that if someone DOES have an emergency, they get to the right person.
