IMHO the biggest downers is VJ and calling USCIS and NVC when neither need to be done as there are so many tools out their

@Greenbaum, thanks so much for your encouragement and amazing advice!

I'm pretty much on this train with you, "just wait and it will happen", but have been doing a lot of things because a) I'm like that, and b) it makes my fiancee happy.

That said, I read a lot about calling the NVC to get the case and also some ID number, so that you can log in here and essentially track your case through NVC and to embassy ("Ready").

On the other hand, I heard about this here and actually found it and just submitted a "request" to be put on e-mail alerts. That was two days ago and I haven't heard anything, but our case shouldn't even be with NVC for a week or so, so I still don't know...

QUESTION: is this the best route for getting NVC updates with regards to where your case is and when it hits the embassy?

I'll keep you all updated, but I did buy a speakerphone for my mobile, but don't really look forward to calling NVC and nagging...

Thanks, appreciate your positive support and hard work here. 🙂

I post both of those ways of being in touch with NVC. You can use either way makes no difference. You'll find that there is no need to call NVC because they will email you with updates. Someone in another thread followed my instructions and they never called and like clock work they were notified by NVC when the record was shipped from USCIS, received by NVC, case number assigned and shipment to Embassy all without a phone call. For them the process worked and that's the key. Trust the process as it does work but everyone seems to think that they can move the needle by calling numerus times a day and it is just not true IMHO.

OK, I found some of your instructions >>here<< so that's cool and really helpful, because that's what i did.

So hopefully will avoid the tedious calling / waiting in the line and also receive a note whenever the cases arrives there.

Really good stuff, 🙏😊@Greenbaum, really appreciate your sharing, makes me happy and is really very useful! 🙂

I'll report back with confirmation how it worked, should be another 1-2 weeks. 👍
