The carrier found it in an adjacent mailbox along with other mail. At first I didn't think there was anything important on it but I found my Fiancee's A number that I can use for the I-134.

Glad that you finally got your notice. Here is something you should sign up for if it is offered in your area.

There is a service provided by the USPS (US Postal Service) whereby each morning USPS will scan your incoming mail (just the address side of the envelope) and email you an update. It's very convenient these days to have advance notice that an important piece of mail is being delivered.

The service is available to most communities but some are still being rolling out so not all areas are available. Check the website with your zip code to verify your location is available for the service. A person in the USA can sign up for this free service here: https://informeddelivery.usps.com/box/pages/intro/start.action

Don't worry guys, LOL! I am still waiting as well and patiently looking at you guys' post everyday.

Received Date: Jan. 04, 2018 (258 Days)

NOA1 Date: Jan. 09, 2018 (252 Days)

Call in for inquiry Status of the Case: Aug. 22, 2018 (told to wait 30 - 45 days)  (Been 28 Days)

Note: Talked with a Tier 1 and they don't want to transfer me to a Tier 2

--- I also received a letter of that inquiry by mail, but haven't seen any RFE or heard of that yet as well.

Fiancee's Country: Laos (Saw one recently with NOA1 for Laos on the Jan. 08, 2018 and was approved a few days ago)

Not sure why it is taking so long?!!! I should be cleared to go. I work a government job and should be cleared off background, make enough for fiancee' support, etc...But oh well on the bright side, just booked my ticket the end of this year. I am going 1 month to go visit her :). What a wait guys,... still waiting. You all are not alone.

Until you get pass the gate keepers or walk across the lake to USCIS you have to wait like every other person. I know. It's a Bit__Ch.

As part of its benefits adjudication process and as required by law, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) conducts background checks on petitioners and applicants who seek certain immigration benefits. These background checks consist of four separate checks against systems within Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). In order to facilitate the collection and transmission of information necessary to complete background check processes, USCIS maintains five information technology electronic systems: the Fingerprint Masthead Notification System (FMNS), the Customer Identity Capture System (CICS), the FD-258 Tracking System - Mainframe (FD-258 MF), the Benefits Biometrics Support System (BBSS), and the Interagency Border Inspection System (IBIS) Manifest. USCIS is conducting this privacy impact assessment (PIA) because FMNS, CICS, FD-258 MF, BBSS, and IBIS Manifest collect, use, and share personally identifiable information (PII). This PIA replaces the previously published USCIS PIA for the "Background Check Service (BCS)" which describes planned background check-related systems that were never implemented. Upon publication of this PIA, the BCS PIA will be retired.

how long does it take do you know? tier 2 told us that they didn't even set the person who will work on our case, so how long does it take them do do all the checking since they set the adjudicator?

Normal processing from NOA1 to NOA2 is running 200-250 days.

There you go.. they will respond to you on or before Oct. 1st. Their response might be in the form of approval or an RFE. Maybe they are not done yet with your background checks.

tier 2 told my fiance that they haven't set the adjudicator to our case

he understood it like they haven't even started to work on our case

that's why I'm asking when they start to work on the case does this work really take 5 to 7 months???

It’s the background checks or the understaffed that’s causing for some cases to be delayed. Adjudicating a case after clearing background checks takes only 20mins. As far as i have read from here.

I really really hope so

thank you 😢

Don’t worry.. once they indicate a specific date of their response, expect that they will really reach out to you sooner(most of the time) than Oct. first.
