We included an extra paper explaining how we met and label it as “I-129F Supplement: Part 2 Question 53-54” in our packet. I must say that is one of the trickiest questions in the form. But I’m glad your RFE only needs that information.

Moving ahead my friend... Almost there at the peak of our approval...🤞

Here you said you sent in a supplemental packet answering questions 53-54. Was this sent in with your original packet or did you send this in with your RFE?

The medical is done before his interview at the embassy in his country, so before K1 Approval and before entering the U.S.  I don't remember exactly but I think there will be another medical during AOS.  I believe your medical for K1 is valid for a year, so if AOS takes longer than that then you have to have another medical done in the U.S. before AOS approval.

Okay cool, that makes sense. Our NOA2 is coming in at 30 days after the projected date so I am trying to figure out exactly how many more things I have to wait on before he is actually here!

I’ve been trying to prepare my Brazilian fiancé for cold New England weather too. Unfortunately with the delay of our NOA2 he should be arriving right in the middle of it 😂

Yep. Same with mine. I am hoping that he will be here for Thanksgiving. I really want to share the entire holiday season with him. If he arrives in January there will be NOTHING to be excited about it because it is just COOOOLD. And there are no twinkle lights on anything to make it worthwhile!

Once you get noa2 you have 10-15 business days for case to get to nvc then nvc send to embassy. Nvc sends to embassy twice a month so a lot deoends on timing. Once your case gets to nvc you can setup medical and technically interview. Just make sure to allow ample time for case to be ready at consulate. A lot of timing deoends on how far your embassy is booked out for interviews. After interview allow 7-10 days to receive passport.

Now is the time to start getting police certificates, vaccination records, etc,

How do you know that NVC only forwards cases to the embassies twice a month?  I've seen that mentioned before, but looking at people's timelines, it shows 'Left NVC' on many different days, not just twice a month.  For example, for August in the timeline search, it shows 'Left NVC' on the 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 27th, 29th & 31st.

Congratulations on receiving rfe. Pretty easy fix for u.

send what is requested only. Make sure to add dates to photos. Letter of intent can be short and sweet. They just wanna make sure u r aware that u must marry within 90 days of entering 🇺🇸. Sign paperwork.

Yes, thank you. Im really happy that it is an easy fix. I’m just worried if the proof of meeting I will submit is enough. :)

Did you only send pictures for proof of meeting? If so, that could be the issue.

Yes, ive been putting itineraries and my passport stamps as a proof that I’m in the US to support the photos I attached.

5 hours ago, ashmed246 said:

I got the same RFE. I had my fiancé send me her scanned letter of intent, included More pictures of us together during my visit with dates, place and people in the pictures. I added bio data page with entry and exit stamps on my Nigerian passport and also bio data page of my American Passport as it was stamped in france in route to Nigeria. My flight tickets and lastly latter from the Army approving my leave to Nigeria. I read here that you have to sign the RFE letter but I didn’t see any instruction like that on the letter so I included a signed cover letter with the packet listing exactly what’s needed in the RFE and the corresponding documents included with the original RFE letter first.

Website has been updated to “evidence received” now waiting for an approval. I hope this helps.

Yes this is very helpful, I put passport stamps, flight tickets, museum tickets we visited (idk if that is helpful) and more pictures to back it up on the document.

They ask if you have met in person within the two years prior to filing:

     52.     Have you and your fiancé(e) met in person during the two years immediately before filing this petition?

Yes           No           N/A, beneficiary is my spouse

If you answered "Yes" to Item Number 53., describe the circumstances of your in-person meeting in Item Number 54. Attach evidence to demonstrate that you were in each other's physical presence during the required two year period.

I have been unable to find anywhere on the form that asks you to describe how you met initially to establish the relationship, nor have I ever seen anyone post that question.  I would love to see it if anyone finds it, cause I'm starting to wonder if I'm crazy...

We interpreted the question this way, and in fact we included no "story" (even though its cute and unusual) as to how we met initially.  I wrote something like "Alec last visited me at my home in the US" with the dates, and in the additional info section, I listed all our other visits by date. We had about six visits of 2-8 weeks each during the two years prior to filing the petition. His I-94 and passport stamps were the only supporting evidence we sent.  Approved at 185 days without RFE.

I did second guess everything after sending our packet and reading VJ extensively.  I can only speculate as to the reasons we were approved so quickly and without an RFE.....we're older, his country is New Zealand.  We do have divorces and kids however.   Another thing:  some of the vetting may have been easier as he currently has a B-2 visa, and I have Global Entry.

Who really knows though.  Good luck to everyone still waiting...

Hello....I know this question has been asked a lot but plz can you tell me 1: how one knows that their case has gotten to the nvc.

2: what is an nvc number

3: how does one know that their case has left the nvc and is on it's way to the embassy?

Hi Guys,

Newbie here. I submitted my I-129f in January 2018 and very happy to have found this site. Looks like I’m not the only one who is still waiting.

Old site :  Jan 22

New site: Jan 25

I submitted a case inquiry once my case was outside normal processing windows and USCIS sent me an email saying the following:

It’s just so frustrating because it seems that there is always a new date or extended deadline. Has anyone else been on here waiting this long with no NO2?

I also tried calling the call center a few times but they are useless and give me no information. I wish I could see a light at the end of the tunnel!

So how many are still left in this thread without even an RFE?

Is it just you and me, @Snuffles?

I'll call the USCIS on Tuesday, have not yet actually spoken with a Tier 1, to at  least hear what they have to say. Maybe I can get some information that way, then I'll update my "action post".

Hope everyone has a great weekend, and for those of us in the USA, also a great holiday Monday! Hang in there, we'll all get there. 🙂

Duane & Haney

@SilverMonk @JayHouser @I.Kat And few others have not gotten any news yet. So i am praying for all of you guys. Hopefully as soon as this holiday ends, your approval will appear in the system.
