So I have a friend  that met his Fiancé twice before he filed the paper work for a K1.

He didn't propose on the 2nd visit but when he returned home he decided she was the one,  they submitted the paper work and 6 month later he visited her

for the 3rd time and proposed and gave the ring ( paper work was in process.

They are doing an interview soon, is this to confusing to explain in the interview and should he have already proposed when they did the paper work?

whats the simplest way to explain this ?

The truth ..  tell it like it was.   Can't flub-up telling the truth.    Of course they were chatting during this time .. yes?  ;)

REQUIREMENTS FOR FILING THE I-129F

1) Have MET in person within the past 2 years.

2)  Both the petitioner and beneficiary are free to marry  ( ...  and vow to marry within 90 days of entry in the the USA)

-- there is no mention of proposing, rings or anything else.

One of the requirements when filing for K1 is a letter of intent to marry from each of them.........that sounds a lot like a proposal offered and accepted . This wont be an issue.

This ....

Intent was proven with the submission of the package with the signed letter of intent to marry, engagement scenarios are as unique as individuals
