I was prepared to feel very sad for the girl and the tragic situation, but after being on visajourney, I wonder if the "abduction" may have been pre-planned. Either way, she needs to be found!

Before starting our visajourney I would have only felt bad for the abductee. Now I wonder if she might have absconded via a prior plan, possibly with a parent, planning to stay without papers. I noticed that the article said she lived with her Grandpa in China but did not mention the parents. That's normal in many Chinese families, so I wasn't ubduly suspicious until the article said that an Asian woman picked up the girl. Then I started wondering if it were a pre-planned event, possibly toskip some immigration laws.

I still wonder if the girl is planning to stay and if so, what visa she entered on. I also would derive about the parents' legal status. If even one is a US citizen or legal immigration, this sounds like immigration fraud for someone who came on a student visa.

I'm glad the girl is safe.

VAWA here we come?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
