Hi All. Does anyone know the length of validity for a police clearance certificate (Is this even required now or does USCIS do their own investigation?). Also, how can I get a police clearance certificate from Kuwait. I left Kuwait years ago and need to get one without going back there. Please advise.

I think the police clearance certificate varies by country but usually it's 6-12 months. It depends on the country, but the embassy of Kuwait should be able to get one for you. I'm having the same problem but with Greece.

Important: Police certificates expire after one year, unless the certificate was issued from your country of previous residence and you have not returned there since the police certificate was issued. If at the time of your interview the following three items are all true, you must bring a new police certificate to your visa interview:

-You are more than 16 years old;

-The police certificate submitted to NVC was obtained more than one year ago; and

-You still live in the country that issued the certificate.
