I went through it , it s not my first application to i130 .. so dont believe everything they say , you still have one month , the nvc process take btw 1.5 month to 3 months.

I hope you're right, they wouldn't give me any more information, it was really weird.

Our immigration lawyer told us the administrative processing usually means it’s about to have a rejection letter drawn up.

The nvc has prettyngood at sticking with its 6-8weeks. We are 4 weeks in and the lady told us our data is starting to be inputted but will take time.

This is my concern! I just don't understand how I can be rejected when we haven't submitted anything yet to NVC!! I only hear of AP happening post interview

Apparently they do a round of checks at the nvc. We had our nvc parcel received in feb. An agent last week contacted my wife’s family to make sure some details were correcr

I could understand that. But we don't even have a case number yet, nothing has been submitted. How can they deny with nothing in their hand but an I-130 approval?

I have never heard of a denial at NVC before your case number has been assigned.  Your file is just sitting in a pile or in an electronic queue waiting for someone to give it an NVC case number.  You may be confusing the wait to get the case number with administrative processing at the consulate abroad.  Yes, NVC will do a review of the file once all documents are submitted, fees paid, etc., before they send it to the consulate and schedule the interview, but you are not at that stage yet.  When someone told you it was in "administrative processing" they simply meant it is in line for a NVC case number.  So I would not worry, the NVC case number is taking forever to be assigned these days, if it has been 8 weeks you should hear soon, just keep calling them every day to ask.  I would say you have a zero chance of getting a denial before the case number is assigned.  Good luck with the NVC stage!  We're almost there, it's been 4 weeks for us since NOA2 so our file should be at NVC soon, then 8 weeks for a case number (or 9 or 10 weeks?)....  patience is key.

Thank you, I pray you're right! When the woman said Administrative processing I was shocked and I asked her what that meant and she wouldn't tell me and I said I'd just never heard of it at this stage and she still gave no info other than there is no set amount of time that it will be in AP.

I got this notification today via case tracker app, "On March 20, 2019, we mailed a request for initial evidence for your Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, Receipt Number SRC######. The request for evidence explains what we need from you. We will not take action on your case until we receive the evidence or the deadline to submit it expires. Please follow the instructions in the request for evidence. If you do not receive your request for evidence by April 4, 2019, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address". Am really not sure what they really need since I submitted all my evidence to them. Can anyone help me figure this out??

I'm so sorry. I can only imagine they want more evidence? This whole thing sucks.

It's impossible to know, all anyone can give you would be pure speculation until you receive the RFIE in the mail.   Based on previous posts, it could be they misplaced some of your paperwork or passport size photos (it happens, believe it or not), or they want something you thought you sent them but didn't, like an official English translation of a document including the original in the foreign language (some just send in the English version), marriage certificates that do not have an official seal, complete divorce decree (some only send a certificate and not the full decree--all pages), etc.  It could be anything really.  All you can do is wait and then send them exactly when they ask for, as soon as you can.  The good thing is someone finally looked at your file, and based on others' experiences, they will adjudicate your case a few weeks after you submit the documents they want.  Good luck!

To be honest, "administrative processing" could mean anything.  The fact that a case number has not been assigned tells me that your case is a pile.  I would think that logging a case into the system and assigning a case number is the FIRST action taken at NVC.
