just got notice petition was sent to NVC on Jan. 10th even though approval was Dec. 21st, so it's taken quite a bit for them to send it out...

Congratulations!!  Your news give the rest of us, July filers, so much hope that things at TSC are moving along and we might also hear soon!  Good luck with the NVC stage and interview stage of this long journey!

I am in shock!!!!  I'm wondering an approximate time frame from now until interview....3/4 months maybe?

I know everyone here will be approved soon! Btw, letter came in mail but website still not updated..

Average time from NVC receive date to interview right now is 5 or 6 months.  It depends on your consulate and how fast you submit or upload your documents, make payments, all kinds of variables that could make it more or less than the average.  We have all our documents ready to submit as soon as we get the NOA2 and then NVC case number which can take a month after NVC receives your file.  Crazy process indeed.

I was wondering the same, but from looking at people’s timelines, it appears that it is extremely variable.  I’ve seen as early as 3 and as long as 8. I think 4-5 months would be the average, but so many variables play a role.  My case timeline is almost the same as yours, I think that the holiday week put USCIS behind. Best of luck!

Soo...I just called USCIS to check the status of our petition and learned we were approved and a letter was sent out to us on January 9th!!  I was actually expecting them to read off what the website and app show...which is your case was received on July 11th. I had to ask him to repeat what he said like 4 times!! Super stoked that the longest part of the process is over. But...he said they have 90 days to send our documentation over to NVC. 90 days?!!  Here’s hoping it doesn’t take 90 days.

It shouldn’t take that long. My approval was Dec 15th and it got to the NVC Jan 4th. Check the NVC in a few weeks. I think they tell people x amount of days, not to get our hopes up. But then again my service center is Potomac so the time could be different. Either way, check the NVC in a week!! Good luck!!

Thanks for your response! 3 weeks (Dec 15 - Jan 4) sounds way better than 3 months!!  I will definitely give the NVC a call in a couple of weeks.

I’m sure it will be! Maybe give them a call next week. I called the automated line and it just gave me exactly what the website said...word for word, that my petition was received on July 11th and that was it. I called back immediately and got a live person who then told me the petition was approved!!
