Hi everybody. I joined this forum because we need some information on how to pay the i-130 fee from Romania. My husband (US Citizen living in Romania for several years) and I are preparing our i-130 package, but we have trouble finding information on how to pay the fee to the USCIS. We cannot write checks so we're looking into money orders/wire transfers, however we cannot find a bank account or any related information online. I am really hoping that some of the fellow applicants from Romania would be able to help us.  USCIS says call the embassy for information and we called the embassy in Bucharest but they have no idea. Thanks a lot for your help.

If all that fails, try reading the instructions.  LOL  You can use a credit card authorization form now, or send your package to a family member in the US, so they can attach a check for you.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

As mentioned above, credit card is now an option. See USCIS site for more info: https://www.uscis.gov/g-1450

I'm in Romania as well but luckily have accounts in the US so it wasn't a problem for me to write a check. You can also send the petition to trusted friend or family, have them include a check (anyone can pay the fee for you), and forward the petition on to the lockbox. Then you can work out how to reimburse your friend/family member.

I thought if you temporarily resided in a country with a US embassy you could skip the USCIS and file directly with the embassy in a lot less time?

Not all countries do direct consular filing. We would have done that, but the embassy in Turkey does not offer that option.

I thought Romania did that's why I mentioned it

They stopped doing it in 2011...although it says exceptions may be granted. It stinks cuz it's definitely faster!
