We called the uscis number May 9 2019, since we are way overdue on travel and work. Both of us had to confirm who we were on phone. She told us that no one picked up the case after we did the e request :( all she could do was out in another request. Couldn't give us an date it would be approved. Waited 30 minutes on phone at 10 am.

I am sorry that you are still waiting. Wishing you luck. If I may ask how do you check if someone has pick your case after making a e-request?

Hi guys!

I just got back from a 3-week overseas trip, and I entered in JFK. When we were at the border control, I went to the US citizen line with my husband. I showed my combo card to the officer, and he told my husband to pick up the luggage and told me to follow him. So I went to another room with him, and only waited there for like 15 minutes, the only question the senior officer asked me is if I had any food with me... It was a really fast and painless experience.

My interview is in 2 weeks, and on the letter, it says the spouse has to bring a birth certificate, my husband lost his original birth certificate, he only has a copy, can we go to the interview with the copy and a notarized letter explaining how he lost the original birth certificate?

Thank you!

We just finished our interview . When my wife got her letter it said the same thing. For me to bring my Birth Certificate, a new I-864, and other documents. Our officer did not ask for any of it. Only took our copies of our joint accounts.

And we were approved .

But I was glad we were prepared just in case.

No news as of yet. We are staying with Moeshas Aunt so we don't have rent or utilities under both names as of yet. Hope that is ok. We will move into our own place once we get the travel and work approval, hopefully before our interview date. Chase bank wouldn't give us an joint checking account here in Orlando, but we heard Bank of Boston would give us one without the green card. I will let you know if they approve an account. I think the Orlando office is way behind on everything.

I live in the South Florida area and I was able to open a bank account in Chase without a social or anything. As long as there is 1 person in the account with a social/citizen, you can just give your passport with your visa or whatever you have and that is enough. Now that I have my social I added it to the account. It has been this way for years because I’ve had a bank account with my mom with no social for at least 5 years. Been to multiple branches.

My wife’s green card came in the mail today. 8 days after her interview.  She was so excited and I was too.

She was excited because we postponed our trip to the Philippines in April because we got the Status change that interview was scheduled.

Now we can re-book her trip to the Philippines to visit family.

Good morning everybody!

My wife and I had our AOS interview on Wednesday Morning at 8:15am in NY and we got approved in the afternoon following the interview! Now I have a notification from USCIS saying that the card is being produced!! 🎉🎉

The interview was very nice, our officer was great and we had 4/5 questions about our parents, how we met etc. He asked for our original documents (birth certificates and marriage licence) and for proof or relationships (photos etc). He double checked he had the correct mailing address for the card as well and that was it... 20 minutes total, I’d say!

They kept our original marriage licence though... our lawyer said we won’t get it back, which is too bad!

Congratulations to everybody who has been approved or is moving forward and for those still waiting for the next step : lots of courage, it’s going to come soon!  💛

Thank you, yes I had an account with them and then went to add my beneficiary with her SS# and Marriage certificate and still wouldn't give it. I guess its whoever is managing the branch. So not fair. We going to go to Bank of America next we heard they will accept us. I will let you know.
