And even if they say you are eligible, dont count on it. I was told by my local bmv that I was eligible, I passed all the tests on October 23rd and I am still waiting for my licence to come in.

Calling down there again tomorrow cause my 2nd temporary licence is about to expire next week.

When I first applied in Texas they just gave me a licence valid until my I-94 expired, even when I showed them the NOA-1. I tried again after the licence expired and they finally accepted after running my alien number in the save system. I now have a licence valid for one year, I think it will be enough time for me to get my conditional GC for the next renewal ;)

The link states you need an I766 for category C9 which is your actual EAD card.

Oh yes I didn't pay attention to the visa categories. But if I was him I would still go and try, my DL is one of my most precious document here 😂 I need to drive!

Hi Everyone,

I read that some of you already had the interview for the green card. I just received an invitation letter and my interview will be on Thursday the 10th of December (Boston). I will add a little review after the interview!

However, we have one questions to all people out there who already had their interview: How long does it take to receive the green card after the interview?

Thank you! :)

Greetings from Massachusetts!

we are doing Hawaii.. best option without leaving the US!

I also went to Hawaii for my honeymoon because of the Visa process. It was amazing. 😍 Which islands are you going?

115 days and counting.. honeymoon officially cancelled 😕

Sorry to hear that. This whole process is very frustrating. I hope you guys figure something else out.

I've been checking my timeline daily and the estimated approval date keeps changing day by day +/- 4 days. LOL I am stressed.

I don't know how accurate it is but maybe I should just stop checking it?! 😩

No EADs at all for Aug filers yet?? Should I try expedite (I technically have a job lined up, they have been willing to wait for me though) or just wait it out? Crossing for fingers for all of you as well!

This is a good idea! I've never been myself either.

We are looking into alternatives. Our plan for our "honeymoon" was to do another wedding ceremony back in her home country so her family could take part this time around. Planned on traveling in late January, which would be 5 months from our application (I was anticipating this taking 3-4 months based on what I'd read). But now it's just a bit too close for comfort. Better to cut our losses now while we can still get some refunds.

Alright! I understand. The processing times are so unexpected. Sometimes it is different for people on the same office. But, I think you guys decided for the best option right now. Smart move! Best of luck for you guys! Hopefully, we can all get over this process and start to live "normal" lives again.

Hello RevGreen, I think if you already have a job lined up, you can try to get a job offer letter and expedite the EAD process.  It is very unclear when we will receive the EAD and I believe some filers may only receive it by the end of December or even January. It does not hurt to try.

Today we are on 128th day since NOA1, we were going to have our honeymoon on Norwegian Cruise Line on December 17th, leaving for Miami on 13th. I feel extremely bad to cancel the cruise, since it's not refundable even though my husband says loosing $1000 is not a big problem, but I know it's difficult for him since he is still at college. We hoped till today to get my advance parole but just yesterday I found out that if I leave the US without it, my AOS application would be abandoned and the whole immigration process has to be started over. So now we are thinking to cancel the cruise and stay in Miami. I am not completely sure if we still can sell the tickets just in case If somebody is interested. I just thought to ask if someone knows if that is possible

Sorry to hear that. Probably not the best idea to plan and book a trip out of the country before having the certainty of being able to travel
