I could have written those same words. Today has been a hard day. I feel super down. I’m longing for the day I am able to DO something productive, to work, to feel useful again. It crushes my soul.

I feel your pain. Some days I feel so down. Just have to wait it out.

It is very hard time! I'm feeling super down and full of sadness this week. My husband is not helping a lot, I'm the only one dealing with all the paperwork.  All this lead to homesickness, depression and stress out.

Hang in there. Keep the faith.

Hi Everyone

As promised, here's the review.

So our appointment was at 9am in Down Town San Diego. We arrived half an hour before.

Pretty standard airport style security check.

My husband and I waited approx 20 minutes before my name got called.

We were asked to swear and oath which was expected.

The officer was extremely nice and chill. Firstly she asked questions about our relationship, our travels and basically our whole story.

Where we met, how often I fly to the United States and how often my fiance used to visit me back in London.

She then asked for our wedding and other photos.

I had our photos printed at Walmart ( initially I was concerned because I know that they wanted everything to be in a binder but she was fine with regular photos).

She then asked for some information in relation to the original application, just verifying everything like our address, my name, date of birth, city I was born etc.

After the questions she told us she is happy that we have a bonafide relationship.

Unfortunately, it was not all good news.

She mentioned to me that it's all approved ( in theory ) however, because of the fact that my medical examination from the sealed packet from my point of entry was not in the case file. She cannot approve it just yet.

I was like, but that's impossible the CBP officer has approved my entry and she said I know. Normally if something is missing in the envelope you will not be allowed in.

However, she promised me that she will do everything she can took look for it which put my mind at ease.

The officer said don't worry, I will find it and if not worst case scenario. I'll just do another medical.

I know this delay can be annoying, but in my head I'm just thinking that my EAD is still on process so in the event that this delay lasts for more than 90 days then I know I can still work and start our lives together.

I'd like to say I am not stress or bothered about this but I am. However it is what it is.  I'll just pray and have faith that they will find it.

So just to conclude the interview is fairly easy specially if you have nothing to hide. Show some emotions, show the officer how much you love your spouse and everything will be fine.

Oh I forgot to add, she gave me a piece of paper explaining that my GC that is soon to be approved is conditional has to be renewed 90 days before it expires in 2 years time.

( Which I believe the majority of us know). We were both asked to sign that piece of paper and was given to me.

Hey everyone! So this weekend I met two people that filed their AOS (marriage-based) at the same office as me and both have been waiting for a year for their EAD without any luck. They have only received their AP a few months ago.

Does anyone has the USCIS link where I can check the average processing times according to the office location? I really hope we are just talking about a coincidence here but who knows. I'm trying really hard not to freak out right now lol.

Found it https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/

So if I'm correct, the EAD  processing times depend on the service center, not the field office (*sigh*).

Correct and the EAD/AP is processed at the National Benefits Centre so input that as the selection when using the above link.

Hi everyone, it has been a while since i last posted here, I think after all the stress of waiting for the first part of this journey we just wanted to relax together over the same roof. But now we started to wonder if next steps, since it has been a few months.

Our NOA was on August 01 and biometrics on August 23rd.

I started checking out receipt numbers and it seems for the EAD and AP it's about waiting, the estimate date on VJ is accurate? People are actually receiving their permits on the date estimated?

For our A O S it says "case is ready to be scheduled for an interview" and the text is " as of August 30th we are ready to schedule your form I-485 (...) For an interview. We will schedule your interview and send you a notice. (...) " we never got anything else in the mail after our first NoA s, is that how it works?

We are kinda lost, after an immersion in this process before my POE we were so stressed out after I moved that we just got into this mood of waiting patiently with no rush. Buuuut now we are back with our sane minds.

Currently EAD/AP takes about 4 to 6 months according to USCIS processing times estimates. You will be notified only when approved and the card will come in the mail.

AOS takes a heck of a lot longer and is dependent on the processing times of your local FO. After you receive the "ready to be scheduled..." notice it can take months or sometimes a year+. You will not receive any correspondence until the actual interview has been scheduled.

You can keep track of estimated pricessing times here:

https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/

I765 and I131 are processed at the National Benefits Centre.

I485 is processed at your local FO so you'll have to determine what that is before looking up the estimated times for your FO. You can do that here:

hi everyone!

im new in this forum.

I came on a k1visa and applied for AOS on august 8.

did anyone get their work permit already? whats the situation?

thank you!

also: can i get a drivers license in Georgia while i wait? with the noa1? or i have to wait for work permit?

It looks like you can get a DL in Georgia with a NOA-1 but it's not very clear, you can renew it with so I guess you can get one as well.

The best is to make some more research and go to an office to ask.

And even if they say you are eligible, dont count on it. I was told by my local bmv that I was eligible, I passed all the tests on October 23rd and I am still waiting for my licence to come in.

The link states you need an I766 for category C9 which is your actual EAD card.
