For anyone that has done their Green Card interview, what did you bring to your interview?

We of course submitted our I-693/vaccination records and I-864 Affidavit of Support with our AOS package, did you bring these to your interview even though they've already been submitted?

and what does it mean to bring 'Documents to establish eligibility for Lawful Pernament Resident status'?

TIA :)

What makes you eligible for a greencard? You marrying your spouse after entering on a k1 visa does. So prove that. Bring your k1 visa and your marriage certificate.

Besides that I am bringing everything I submitted and everything they sent me from day 1. I also have pictures from our wedding. Outings we did as a family. Our joint bank account and insurance. Cards and gifts from friends and family members. Anything to prove everybody knows and knows its real

:(

61 days since responding to RFE on I-485

105 days since I-131 was received (we have a our honeymoon coming up after Christmas, not sure what's going to happen with that)

70 days since fingerprints were done for I-765

Thought that this process would be much easier than K1 because at least we'd be together, turns out it's actually just as difficult.

I was thinking about same thing. I thought K1 Visa process was the most complicated. Once I started the process for the I-485 I realized  that K1 was nothing compared to I-485.

Hello,

I did my biometrics but there is no update on my case status in USCIS website, my case has never been updated since this: (On August 16, 2018, we received your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSCXXXXX, and sent you the receipt notice that describes how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your receipt notice by September 15, 2018, please call the USCIS Contact Center at 1-800-375-5283. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.)

I also never received email or text notifications, I applied for both though.

Do you guys know how I can solve it? I don't want to miss any information.

Thanks

Has anyone gotten their EAD yet? I filed early August, and getting my green card before getting the EAD Is out of the question because I filed in NYC (crazy long wait for interviews). Any hope on getting them in December? This waiting is just awful. I don't even know if trying to expedite at this point will do anything. I know it is just pure luck and not anyone else's fault, but seeing people who have filed after me but already having their interviews scheduled is just frustrating.

It's very frustrating, I'm a late August filer and I'm hoping December I will get the EAD as well.

I am also late August filer. The status of my I-485 was updated but the status for my EAD is still showing the same....is that normal?

On which cases are they working at?

All the best!

Same for me the EAD is still saying received and the I-485 is saying scheduled for interview for over a month now. I really don't know which cases they're working on as some persons have received interview dates already. I guess it depends on whichever office your case is at. Seems like my office is moving pretty slow.

Hi all!  I had my AOS Interview at Tampa FL USCIS Office today.  Here is my review...

Met with a lovely immigration officer (Riki) who went through the I-485 and verified all the information that I had provided in the form.

Asked for my name and former names, my DOB, husbands name and his DOB, my parents names, current address, how long we have lived there for, date we were married and then we went through each of the immigration/criminal/terrorism questions which you have to answer verbally yes/no to. We were then invited to provide any supporting documentation to verify our relationship. We provided gym membership, health insurance, joint credit cards, car insurance, joint bank statements, birthday cards, 5 x photos from the wedding, copies of our wedding vows and facebook msgs and emails. She then invited us to tell her about us and our story which we didn't mind retelling as we love to tell our little 'fairytale' smile.gif

She then informed us that she had everything she needed for her review and that once they did a 'refresh' on my background check, everything to her looked good to be approved. Told us they have 90 days to approve it but that she normally takes less than 30 days to go through her cases and issue decision. She then said that I will receive a letter advising us of their decision and then a week later will receive the card.

By the time we arrived home (approximately 2 hours after the appointment ended), I received a text notification that my case status had been updated for all three cases (AOS, EAD & AP). So I signed in to my USCIS account online and it advised 'New Card is Being Produced' for my AOS which means I have been APPROVED and it is on it's way! NOTE - Because my greencard was issued before my employment authorization/advance parole requests had been granted, they have now been cancelled by the immigration officer (she advised us that she would cancel them once she approved and issued my green card).

So all in all, a easy experience (even though I was nervous... something about an 'interview' that always makes me a little uneasy haha), questions were straight forward and after only a short wait, I now have my green card on it's way! Happy Days smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif

Also just a quick mention regarding the I-693 medical. I had my overseas vaccination in Feb 2018 with all my vaccinations completed (except for the flu vaccine as it was not flu season in Australia). I provided a copy of my vaccination record (DS3025) with my I-485 submission and this was sufficient. I did NOT go to a civil doctor and re do any medical or vaccination part of the form for my interview as it was still within the 12 months of my overseas medical. The topic of the medical was not even brought up in the interview. Just wanted to add this in for others as this was something that I wasn't sure of and took a chance in not completing the additional medical just in case I didn't need it - which turns out I didn't!

If you have any further questions, let me know and good luck to the rest of you!!

Alli

Thanks for all of the info and congrats on the approval, that must be a weight lifted off of your shoulders!

My interview is coming up early December and I’ve got most of my paperwork in order! We of course submitted our I-693/vaccination records and I-864 Affidavit of Support with our AOS package, did you bring these to your interview even though they've already been submitted?

Hi Little_Vixen, I appreciate your answer but I did want to hear from someone that has gone through the Greencard interview😊
