The location of your biometrics does not need to be the same as the interview as the smaller offices can handle the biometrics appointment but the more difficult interviews are at the main offices. My biometrics was even in a different state (I live in indiana on the Kentucky state line)

My biometric appointment scheduled for November 6th in Louisville KY, I’m in NYC now for college so my question is does anyone know if I can do my biometric here in NY and what I should do to change location

Some offices do walk-ins. I'd check your nearest field office.

Hello everyone,

On August 16, 2018, my AOS application was received by the National Benefit Center. I received my first I-797C Notice of Action August 27, 2018. I have not yet received the Biometrics Appointment Letter, I called USCIS Customer Service and they said that an appointment is not yet scheduled for me. I'm hopeless!!!!

Call USCIS and ask them to do a service request for you. Then wait for 15-30 days, you'll receive your biometrics appointment letter by mail.

I got my NOA1 on August 30, made a call to inquire on Oct 3, and just got my bio appointment letter last Friday.

Thanks for the advice! I called them and they give me a confirmation number. As  you said I'm going to wait for 15-30 days to see what's going to happen.

At NYC local USCIS application office instead of Louisville KY, still can’t believe how easy it was to change biometric location

I will try to do same. Thanks.

Hello Everyone!

I’m curious what happens after we get EAD or GC, once we have either card and get a job, do we show the employer the card and SSN?  How will it work?

Back home you would just give your employer your  Social Secuity Number.

TIA
