Today I've been back to the BMV for I think the 7th time? I'm losing track.

Slight recap. I finally managed to pass my written test after 3 or 4 trips. Not because I didnt pass, but because the old hags at the BMW kept changing what documents I needed to get the test done in the first place.

So after changing my ssc to my married name and taking the letter from uscis to verify my address (cause apparently the letter from my bank and insurance companies were not good enough cause they looked like soliciting mail...) I finally was able to prove I was an actual person and take the test. Oh, did I mention I was not allowed to rip the ssc from the address card it came from? Yeah, cause that would make it invalid to verify my address.

Anywho... I passed the test, i scheduled a drivers test and a week later I got a call. My drivers license wasn't good enough cause it's in Dutch...

I understand it's very hard to figure out what my date of birth is on there, cause you know, we Europeans switch the date and the month around, very complicated. And the place it was issued is very hard to determine, or even that it is a real drivers licence even though its printed in English at the top. No they wanted me to either get it translated or do the 50 hours and 6 months learners permit.

We decided to get it translated. All 2 Dutch words and 3 dates on it. It cost me 80 bucks.

They send me back home today cause the statement included with the translation is not enough. It should be by the translator itself, not the head of department, it needs to include the words 'complete and accurate'. He or she must attest to his or her competence as a translator, and must state that the document has not been translated for a family member, friend, or business associate.

The fact that it's written on business paper of a certified translation bureau is not enough.

Sigh...

My I94 is running outing a few weeks too. Should I be worried?

Oh man! So sorry they're making it so difficult for you! The requirements in Indiana must be way crazier than here in Ma, i cant imagine the trouble they're making you go through! They exchanged my french canadian driver license without any fuss and I was out of the dmv within 15 minutes with a 10 years license.

Can you try a different dmv?

I’m an August 24 filler NOA1 from August 28th, still don’t have biometric appointment, but on September 20th my status on USCIS website changed to “ your case is ready to be scheduled to interview “ I see some people who filled at the end of August still didn’t have a biometric, I just wonder if it’s ok that my status changed to ready for interview without biometrics?

Hi Folks

Has anybody gone through the AOS interview yet?

My status changed to interview was scheduled today and I would just like to know what to expect :)

WOW! That's so fast!!! do you mind sharing your timeline?

Sure

So AOS filed on the 13th of August

then NOA1 for (EAD, AP and GC) was on the 21st of August

If I remember correctly 5 days later they mailed me the biometrics and was scheduled on the 10th of September

Then Interview notification was just yesterday the 17th of October ( now date wise, not sure yet as I am still waiting for the mail to tell me the interview date).

My lawyer did tell me that San Diego field office is working quite fast. One of her clients got her GC 4 months after filing.

So fingers cross.

Good luck to all

All week I've been calling USCIS, the system was not working, but today I tried again, finally I was able to talk to someone, he told me that this is not normal, cause it's have been more  than 30 days since i received the Noa, he send a notification to the office that  I sent my case  , (Chicago). Glad to hear this, and hope it lasts (since we won't be to AOS until sometime next year).
