I don't think anyone here was saying that the guy was in the right frame of mind when he thought his wife shouldn't be deported because he was in the military - unless I missed a response.

I'm a veteran's spouse as well. And the idea to be  above the law or to feel "untouchable" or somehow more "special" than others has never ever crossed our mind. Even when my AOS was pending for 15 month and my husband was advised to bring his military past up in the Letter to our congressperson, he refused to do so, saying he served  because he loves the country but he does not expect to be treated in a special way...

Out of curiosity: they could have filed I-130 & I-601A, correct? Then if it was approved, go to Juarez for medical & interview?

Based on the initial article description, yes. I-130 -> approval -> I-601A -> consular processing.

However, the full story discovered since then seems like there were multiple EWIs, so a 9C bar is likely...requiring being outside the US for at least 10 years before being eligible for an I-601.

The original issue seems to have been thoroughly discussed.  Whenever the OP might wish to close this thread, she should please hit the Report button and so request.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

robbing the bank is not the same as being brought here as a CHILD, living for 40 years, being a business owner, having a family, and ZERO criminal history and being deported.

That's right!  It's ILLEGAL none the less.  Put 'em on a plane and ship 'em back to where they came from.  Let them apply like we all did and make it legal.  Sorry but I have no sympathy for ILLEGAL ALIENS.

Her last entry to the US was supposedly through a false claim to US citizenship.  If so, she is permanently illegible to immigrate to the US.  There is no waiver available, ever.

How can you enter the US by claiming you're a USC?

Fake passport/BC/other ID card would be the first things that come to mind. Happens all the time, especially many years ago.

I don't care much about the story, it's journalists trying to attract attention and it's not as bad as the actual fake news out there (like Pizzagate). What I don't understand is the cult of military people. Why is it considered a good thing to serve in the military to the point where people think that military spouses might get special treatment? Especially serving in the US military when the US is involved in so many pointless wars and it's different from say, soviet soldiers defending their country from the nazis. Of course, not every soldier has done something that takes an innocent person's life but they're all part of a system whose main purpose is to kill foreigners and it also accepts casualties. It's not a noble job.

US soldiers are the reason the Nazis were defeated. Over a dozen of my ancestors fought in the American revolution, maybe you have heard of that war? There would be no USA to immigrate to without US solders.

No, Soviet soldiers defeated the Nazis. And that was many years ago, not applicable anymore. US soldiers also caused immense suffering in Vietnam.

Soviet soldiers assisted in defeating the Nazis (and fought in conjunction with them too),  albeit using many US planes, food, equipment, uniforms, rifles etc etc, there was also the Commonwealth nations, Free Poles, French, etc etc and the US. From a material support, the US supplied most of the victors in some way shape or form.

You're factually wrong in thinking that the US was a significant factor in defeating the Nazis. I don't blame you, there's been a lot of brainwashing about it but please, read actual history sources. The Soviets were the ones who won the war.

Yes, but in the case of Vietnam, the US was the aggressor and there's no excuse for what they did
