Hey all,

We applied for the cr1 visa, curretnly waiting NOA2. My question is, my wife who is in the Philippines might move to a different adress.

If she does would this hinder anything? Will there be any paperwork or information that will be sent to her to her current adress during the entire visa process or will everything be mailed to me here at the US adress?

When it's time for her to complete her ds260,she should put her current address in it.

I think you will just update the information at NVC stage. My husband and myself moved between USCIS and NVC stage. It’s just important that they have the US citizens mailing address at this point.

In this walk throught video at 6:10, theres a letter/form that is from the consulate of the sponsor. In my case the philippines.

How did moving work for you? When your sponsor had moved, how did they send this letter from the consulate? Did you update your adress at one point?

Ahh i might have misheard the information on the video,

once the NVC sends the information to the consulate of the country of the beneficiary (philippines)

the Consulate sends a form to BOTH the Sponsor and the Beneficiary. Since my wife will move, she wont get this letter. Im assuming it will be fine, because according to the video Ill also get the letter. Which is a form about the consulate itself, scheduling the interview, medical exam, and doing the DS 260.

The moment we fill out the DS260,  we will just updated the the adress.

Correct?

They don’t start physically sending the beneficiary documents till later in your journey. If they have petitioners mailing address you are fine. The beneficiary’s first point of contact will come through email, at the NVC stage. After this point you have to do more forms and you will update her physical address. You’re fine. :)
