Hi,

To all respected members of this Platform, This is my first post I have one question. I am a Green Card Holder I petitioned for my wife back in March of this year Priority date is March 14, 2018, of the case so far I receive the letter from USCIS that they receive the form I-130 can I know how much time it will require to Approved the petition because it's about to complete 5 months since the petitioned had been filed. My wife case is in California Service Center. Do I have to do anything to know when it's gonna be approved as I did nothing since filling and getting the letter that they receive the form I-130.

Can I know the estimated time in which the case got approved and send it to the NVC.

F2A?  I believe the current time is about 2 years from filing.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

It is a little over a year or two but depends on your case. use the visa bulletin which will show current priority dates as a guide to know where they are in processing your case. If you call them, they will simply say it’s within processing time. Also, Sign up on the uscis site to receive updates. In any event be prepared to wait and good luck.

Even if your I-130 gets approved, you will still need to wait for NVC to issue you a visa number, for that follow the visa bulletin. Comes out on 12th of every month unless it falls on a weekend. Check this link on how to read the visa bulletin: https://citizenpath.com/how-to-read-the-visa-bulletin/

And since this is CSC, it may take upwards of an year for them to approve your I-130 unless something changes (most likely will cause they are backlogged like crazy).

And if by magic it gets approved tomorrow, the spouse will still have to wait in line with others in same category till her time comes.

Try applying for B2 Visitor visa for spouse to come and stay with you, be honest and sincere, bring a copy of I-130 to indicate you have chosen to do consular processing. It will help if she has traveled to other countries in the past and supports herself financially, if possible schedule and book another trip in far future (after your visit and before the expected consular interview) to another country to show you will be returning to make that trip.

And if she does, dont make her carry 2 checked-in luggage and a filled carry-on. CBP will get suspicious and will deny entry and she will have to fly back.

Worst that happens is you are out of USD 200.

Thanks dear for detailed explanation well any idea how much time it takes when the case got approved and shifted to NVC let's say after the priority date got current and visa is available for further processing. Like all those steps fee docs submission till the Interview and then finally visa issuance.
