Hi. We applied for our in AOS in April and had the biometrics appointment in May. We checked our case status and it has not updated yet. We're trying to figure out processing times but we are confused as to what location to choose on the USCIS website. We are from Chicago but our NOA for the AOS, AP, EAD all have the address for the NBC in Lee's Summit, MO. Hope someone can shed some light on this. Thanks!

The I-485 will be sent to your local USCIS field office (not service center). The I-485 + I-131 + I-765 are first reviewed at the NBC then transferred to the local field office, so that's why the NOAs are from there.

If it says NBC on your NOA then that’s where it was sent to so look at processing times for NBC

Nope. As geowrian said, for AOS, the NBC routes it to the local office, so that's the processing time to check, not NBC.

They said on their NOAs it said it was transferred to NBC so it's at NBC at the moment. After they send it back to their local office then it will be on that timeline.

No, it didn't say it was transferred to NBC. They said their NOAs list the NBC address. That's the default address on all NOA1s for AOS/AP/EAD

Hi it was done at 4701 N Cumberland Norridge, IL

Then that’s your local office. If you look at your biometrics letter again it will indicate that your biometrics will be completed at “your local office”.

Thanks but the letter does not state anything like that. I'm just going to assume that the processing times for AP and EAD are based on NBC. It is the only option in the list of processing centers (USCIS site) that makes sense.

The AOS list gives the option for Chicago so we'll assume it is right. What makes this even more confusing is that we used RapidVisa.com to help us with the filing process and their reps claim our processing center is in Arizona.

The I-131 and I-765 will be adjudicated at the NBC. They also take in the I-485/I-864 initially since the EAD and AP are dependent on that.

Once initial checks are completed and an interview slot is available at the local USCIS office, the I-485 will be transferred there.

If you're just looking to see how long the wait is for an EAD and/or AP, expect ~3-6 months from filing to adjudication.
