Hi all, I’m just wondering what the waiting times to get an embassy interview date assigned are looking like at the moment, we were ‘documentarily approved’ at NVC last week on the new CEAC system.

I know when I get the interview date it’ll be around a month away from the letter so the only unknown variable right now is ‘how long do the NVC and the embassy take to set this up?’

Thanks in advance!

Hey,

So you actually book your interview yourself now, and you can do this once your case is as the embassy. You'll need to complete the DS-160 (https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/) form before you can do this.

Once complete, you'll get a ref number for it, and then you'll need to go here https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/niv to create an account and book your interview online. This is also where you pay the VISA fee.

Hope this helps!

Is this the case for I-130s for a spousal visa, I’ve read that we have to wait for NVC and the embassy to coordinate and assign a date?

You are correct. She was telling you the fiancé procedure.

It helps a lot, thank you! Even with the timelines that’s a difficult bit of information to get a current estimate on, it’s a big help :)
