I have a questions.. to those who got a I551 stamped on their passport, did the officer take a photo of you & finger prints? It looks like biometrics to me.

Yes, For giving me the I-551 Stamp (Valid for 2 months) they took a photo and index finger prints. Not sure if its biometrics though 🤔

Can I get a Driver's license renewed with  I-551 Stamp in Northern CA? I am not travelling for another year. I am debating whether or not to make infopass appointment for  I-551 Stamp to renew my DL. My GC expired recently.

I think you can use it for driver's license renewal because it acts as a green card. If your green card is expired and you have to drive, then get an appointment for the stamp.

Wonderful! Then I will make the appointment in SanJose office asap. Just got off of the phone with a very nice USCIS officer. He said my NOA was printed on Oct 23, 2018 and I shall receive it "soon"   🙄. When asked how soon, 7-10 days or longer, he did not answer, he said depends on when the mail gets posted (😡)  . According to my case status online, my NOA was sent on Sept 24, 2018 ( I waited 30 days before calling them today). Today my intention was to call USCIS to request for 'missing of receipt-I-797' but the officer said since my receipt was printed yesterday, it is not missing and such request cannot be made until another 30 day wait period. So, I will wait till Nov 24 before I call them again if NOA is still not received in mail.

Congratulations, Atleast you are in the system now! According to the USCIS officer,  data entry delays are affecting case status updates on the app.

Did you talk to Tier 1 or 2? I talked to Tier 2 yesterday, they said that my NOA was mailed on October 20th, even though it shows as it was created September 21st. I am a late August filer.

Late August 2018 filer here:

Sent my application 8-26-2018,

application Received 8-29-2018,

Check cashed 9-24-2018 , case status update showing NOA was mailed,

Today the USCIS officer says it was mailed on 10-23-2018 (🙄).

I received this email today following my helpline conversation:

what so we have to tell the USPS that our names must be on the mailbox in order to receive their mail?what the heck does that mean?

This is for PO BOX. I live in the mountains and we have PO BOX, we don't get mail to the house. The post office box has to be 'registered' under your name or all the people who receive mail. So, for example- let's say I registered the PO BOX just in my name (without my husband) then my husband would not receive any mail. the post office would return his mail because he is not a registered person. So both me and my husband are registered in the same PO box.

Post office physically place a tag/sticker on their side of the po box, so they can see who is registered when they put mail in it.

This does not relate to the regular mailbox at your home or apartment. Don't worry.
