hi, if you have been following the thread, 99% of us are all waiting for the extension letter. If you need your receipt number, the best thing to do is to call the hotline of USCIS and ask them.

if your green card expires, there's nothing you could do but wait for the letter. unless you need to travel out the country, then you would need to get a stamp on your passport through infopass.

no idea how long we should wait for the letter. the people at uscis would tell you to wait 30 days from when your check got cashed to receive the letter. after 30 days and you still have nothing, then call them for missing mail/document/notice of action.

Thank you so much, this is all what I needed to know, I really appreciate it. Best of luck to all of us on this trip through process

I guess I'll add myself to the chorus of frustrated people waiting; posted my I751 package on August 28th, heard zero back. Called USCIS and got my case number a week ago, and they said my notice was posted on the 2nd October. Still no sign of it yet though, seems in keeping with everyone else. Hopefully there's some movement for everyone soon!

This is all very frustrating for all of us, we pay our taxes and all the USCIS agents are getting paid by our tax money. The least they can do is handle our cases in a timely manner. We have to take out time from our work and go to USCIS office to get a stamp on our passport for the work that they can't complete on time. I'm going to write a letter to the congressman in my district.

So I have a theory about what's going on.

We sent our paperwork to California Service Center in August. Our cases got transferred all over the country due to the backlog. For example my check was cashed in Arizona, some people had their checks cashed in Illinois or Texas. When checks were cashed we were given a case number (receipt number) by those service centers. Now, if you look at your receipt number, the first 3 letters tell you which service center is handling your case.  My case starts with LIN which means Nebraska SC is responsible for my case. This means that my paperwork got transferred again- from Arizona to Nebraska.

Most of us have a problem checking case status on USCIS website, and USCIS agent told me yesterday she could only see my case in one of her systems but not in the other.  I think this means my case has not been processed by Nebraska SC yet and a NOA has not even been issued yet.

I'm not trying to spread some false rumors. I'm just trying to understand why it's taking them over 2 months to send us NOAs. Even if I'm right, where do we go from here? Next week I will be able to file a missing mail request and maybe that will finally get things moving.

It is very frustrating. I feel for all of guys who have to deal with the expiring driver's license on top of all of this. Thank god my driver's license doesn't expiry for another couple of years.

that makes sense.

I just looked at September fillers thread and looks like a bunch of people who packets were received even mid-September, got the same date as me for cash being checked. So for sure, we are the unlucky bunch with our cases floating around.

I've stopped looking at the other threads. They just add to my frustration 😅

I initially mailed out my packet in July but it was returned to me a month later because I accidentally included the wrong fee ( was off by 5 freaking dollars, don't know what I was doing!!). So i ended u mailing it out by the end of august and it arrived to them on September the 5th. It's been over a month now and no extension letter has arrived. I called USCIS today and I was given a receipt number which like others before me have posted doesnt work on the site and only shows case received on the dhs site. It begins with LIN as well. She told me theres been an update to my case on september 28th and that it may have been mailed that day or the day after. Either way I'm supposed to wait 30 days and see if I received it otherwise I need to call them back and create an inquiry.

This is all super frustrating especially since my GC expired on the 2nd of October. I hope it arrives soon and I don't need to escalate

My GC expires on 22nd of October, they cashed my check two weeks ago, they recieved my package on 30th of August, I still didn't call them but I'll wait 2 more weeks and call them, I started panicking last night, logged on here and honestly reading all this thread my panic level dropped a bit because I am not alone one on this journey ☹ I just hope soon all of us will soon get what we are waiting for

She also did mention they were having delays inputting the data..... Go figure.

i talked to a representative of my congressman on the phone just now. i think you guys should. apparenrently they have direct offices with the service locations where they can represent us and talk to them to find out more info as in where is the noa,or is it mailed yet, etc。

she even told me that my husband's extension should be 180 days instead of 18 months。。。but idk what to believe。but anyway she sent papers for my husband to sign so that she can represent us to talk to uscis directly。since my husband is at work,he cant sign until tonight。so i hope to hear back from her tmrw after we send back the papers to her tonight。
