We have until Nov when her GC expires. I'm a give it until a month before then I'm thinking about doing something drastic like refiling with the different center. The lack of extension letters for people who followed the directions messing with their lives really concerns me.

The thing is uscis told us that we shouldn't be refiling, she said they would check with level two agents to see of they can search for the records first.  It is still crazy that some people can get their I 797 noa so fast while some waited for a month and still nothing.

Waiting in the dark doesn't help, get your husband to call uscis, they can search for him by his green card # , name, dob etc. We called to verify if they received our package (lost our tracking #) those were the questions they ask to look my husband up. They gave us the case number as well. I did get the extension letter a week after we file. Your letter could have been lost in the mail.

Yeah, I am going to have my husband call tomorrow morning before he goes to work.

But if your letter got lost in the mail, how are we supposed to get the actual thing so that we have it whenever? Do uscis resend the letter out?

Yes, your spouse can request another extension letter to be mailed.

But the thing is, they haven't even cashed our check yet. Wouldn't you get a receipt number only after having your check get cashed by them?

Wow, if the check hasn't been cashed then that's the problem.

Can you called the facility where your package was mailed from to see what happened to your package? Do you have a tracking #?

I have a tracking number from usps. We had it sent out on the 17th of last month. It was delivered to them on the 20th in Cali. Since then no check has been cashed. So where exactly is the mail? We have no clue, agent at uscis said to have my husband call and see if it has been scanned yet and on from there. We are in Pacific time too.... Which means my husband gotta wake up at 5-6ish to call them bright and early to find answers

From the look at things it was delivered, but misplaced somewhere at uscis. I would stop payment on the check and refile.

When does your husband GC expire?

I fee that’s an irresponsible response and is dangerous advice.

Well my husband green card expires next month the 7th. I did call uscis without my husband today. The agent told me not to stop the payment yet and not to refile until my husband calls them to confirm first.

What make you think that? Her husband filed almost month ago and the check hasn't been cashed. Its obvious that the documents are lost. Should he continue to wait until after his GC expire?

Okay good, I hope when he call they can locate his file. I have seen alot of horror stories, unfortunately documents can get misplaced. I hope this didn't happen.

Well I wouldn't have my husband wait until his card expires. But i would not refile and stop payment yet. Mostly they at just delayed? Since I am not the only one in the thread with this problem. If you have been reading the other pages others have filed several days before me yet they still have no noa either.

I hope it isn't misplaced either...
