hello everyone.mom interview is coming up in naples italy .can anyone share their documentation and questioning experience for a ir5 proceedings...

Hello! I did my interview for my K-1 last March in Naples. If you check the link in my signature you should be able to read my experience, although it's a different category of Visa.

You can check all the requirements for immigrant Visas here:  https://it.usembassy.gov/it/visti/iv/k1/

Overall, the whole process was smooth.

On the day before the interview your mother will have to get her medical examination done at Istituto Diagnostico Varelli.

My best advice is to go there WAY EARLIER than suggested. I arrived at 7AM and I already have 5 people in front of me. I was done after 3 hours and a half but if you are the first in line it's going to be much faster than that. She will have to get X-Rays, blood test, urine test, physical test, and vaccination report. I hope she has all her vaccinations already because their prices are expensive.

On the day of the interview, she will be called at one of the booths and interviewed by the Consul through a glass window. She will be standing for the whole time. She will be asked if she prefers to speak in English or Italian before starting.

Make sure she has every document required otherwise your case may be delayed, or denied in the worst case scenario.

The interview itself will be nothing she can't handle. She will probably be asked most questions in relation to you.

If you check here http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.php?trim=no&cty=&cnty=Italy&page=1&dfilter=5&topic= you should be able to find other people's reviews about the process. I remember someone leaving a recent one about an IR5 for his/her mother.

Good luck to your mom!

Thanks for your post , feeling very nervous for my poor mom , I’ve gone over my documents 100 times but I’m still nervous, I know I have everything ,and I have read every review and experience possible , but I’m still very nervous....

Try not to worry. I can perfectly understand the feeling about the upcoming interview, but as long as she has her documents in order and answers truthfully to the questions she will be asked, there will be no reasons whatsoever to fear a denial.

Istituto varelli was the first stop on Tuesday, we were there at 7:30 and back at the hotel by 10 am , blood , urine, X-ray, we didn’t have any records of vaccinations so we were given one vaccination only for an extra 27 euros, make sure you have cash and 4 photos... Done.Day 2 was at the consolate 300 yards from our b&b, appointmet at 8:30 was there at 8 done by 9:40.... Checked our phones at the gate elevator to 2nd floor , pass number 5 . We were called to the window within 20 minutes , fingerprinted ,sponsor birth certificate ( estratto di nascita) w2s and that’s it . Mom was asked if I was her son , if she had a grandson and where she would be residing...we were told to take a seat and wait for the counselor which called us in 10 minuets, now was sworn in and asked again where in America mom was going to reside, where I worked, and if my mom was going to get along with my mother in law..... congrats and within 5 days DHL will deliver..... The end..... Have your doc in order from the very start (Nvc) and you’ll have no problems at all .... ps I was nervous like crazy cause my mom is 80 and needs support..... it’s over!
