Hello everyone 🙂

Just received my Canadian Police Certificate today from the RCMP and wanted to ask a quick question to anyone that can answer please. The officer asked me what type of Police Certificate did I need, either a search based on the name and date of birth or fingerprints. I just got the search based on my name and date of birth, it this correct? On the Police Certificate it has the comments, "This certifies that a search, based on the above name and date of birth, failed to disclose any such person with a record of a criminal convictions in the national repository for criminal records in Canada".  " SEARCH NOT CONFIRMED BY FINGERPRINTS". The officer was kind of annoyed that I hesitated with my answer and told me that I should know this before coming in to request the certificate, so I just gave the answer that I thought was best from information that I have read in the "NVC for Montreal Beneficiaries – Electronic Processing and New Online Forms Guide".

Also I just called the NVC and my case was just received today, Aug 27th.

Hope next steps moves more quickly now at the NVC. Agent gave standard 6 weeks to process and add to database. Good luck to everyone with CC and getting interviews scheduled. @Abies You were EXACTLY right, our case was sent to the NVC Aug 20th and today Aug 27th was received. (7 days) What will we do without you !! You are so much help. Good luck @Abies on your interview Sept 4th ! (even though you do not need any luck you will be fine)

I also just received a police report from Canada and when I applied I was super confident about the form

and selections I made. But then when I received the police report I was a little concerned. It seemed a little unofficial looking.

Inspired by @Saanish I decided to call NVC and YES!!! WE RECEIVED OUR CASE NUMBER TODAY!!!  NVC received our case July 24, 2018 and so 34 days later we have our case number yay!  We really weren't anticipating it would be this early so I guess NVC is moving quicker on non-pivot cases too.  Fortunately, we have all docs locked and ready to load!

Congrats sure they are you will receive your cc within even days I wish I was non pivot we have to wait up to three weeks which is really unexcited

AOS and Civil documents have been submitted via CEAC. Now just wait for CC (and hopefully no checklists!). I also might have a possibility to request expedite but is there point anymore now that the documents have been submitted to CEAC? Has anyone tried to request expedite after submitting documents?

Thank you @Abies for your help.

Yes I was granted an esta visa in 2017 which is valid for 2 years.  So I guess I can call them and see if I can get my alien number ?

An ESTA is not a visa buddy... ESTA stands for Electronic System for Travel Authorization. It is an automated system that determines whether a citizen from a Visa Waiver Country is allowed to travel to the United States and apply for admission to enter. ESTA is only related to traveling, it is not a visa requirement
