Hi everyone

i got my case number by email on August 31 until now I did not receive my welcome letter. Is that normal?

I don’t think they send letters if you have an email on file, atleast that’s what NVC informed me over the phone last week. I also did not receive one and called in to check about it.

I also asked how long the wait was to receive the interview date after the affidavit of support and and civil documents had been accepted, and I was informed that they are done scheduling for this month of September (NVC schedules the interview for the next month, so in this case for October). I was informed that most likely any case approved recently, will most likely be scheduled for November the earliest now. I asked if this information applied to every consulate in every country, since I was under the impression that each consulate had diferent work loads, to which I was informed, with a little bit of hesitation, that ues, this applied worldwide. Keep in mind, this information was provides by one of their representatives, and that these answers seem to vary a little depending on who you speak to. Other representatives only informed me that there was no estimated time and that it depended alot on when the Consulate has availability.

We mailed out our packet to NVC on Thursday and it is scheduled to arrive on Monday. Fees are paid. Applications completed. All docs should be in order. What kind of timeline are we realistically looking at for a CC? How soon after CC does the interview letter normally arrive? Our embassy is in Santo Domingo, DR. It is a good feeling to be this close. Thanks for your help.

Hello everyone,

My DS260 was submitted on Aug 29 and my mailed documents are delivered on Aug 30. Any idea when I can expect case complete?

I am a Canadian permanent resident currently working in USA on H1B. My consulate is Montreal and my visa category is E1 (EB1A alien of extraordinary abilities).

Thanks very much and wishing everyone best luck in the green card journey.

Hi everyone,

I’m not sure if this is the correct thread to post my question but I was wondering if anyone can help me out. So we received a missing document checklist from NVC for my 2017 tax return. I am 100% sure I submitted them so I’m guessing they misplaced it. However they went ahead and scheduled my husband’s interview and told us to bring the tax return to the interview for the CO to review. In the email that we received it stated, “ failure to submit the requested documents at the time of the interview will result in a delay in this case”. When I spoke with NVC over the phone they told me to just have my husband take a copy of my tax transcript and he should be fine as applicants are expected to take proof of financial evidence anyways. My question is, will the CO review my tax return  at the time of the interview or will my husband receive a 221-g  missing document slip and have to submit it at VAC for them to review? I’ve been reading several threads on here and I’m so confused and worried now as I don’t want further delays with this already super long process😞

The consular officer will go through it even before calling your spouse to the window for the actual interview because NVC made a remark for missing document which needs to be reviewed by the CO. If the income is below the poverty level, your spouse will be issued a a 212g form for missing document of a co-sponsor.

I hope this really helps..!

Thank you for your reply. Do you think they will take the document from my husband when they check all his documents before being called up for his actual interview?

Presently,it's taking the NVC 3weeks to review submitted/required documents.

In other words,if the reviewer is satisfied with all required documents you submitted, your case will be completed within 3weeks but if not,you will receive a checklist for more documents either to be resubmitted to the NVC or to be submitted to the consular officer that will conduct your interview.
