Hi all - happy to say that our interview was last week, and my husband was approved. Almost can't believe it's real! The CO was very polite and everything went smoothly.

Thank you to everyone here that has given advice and answers along the way. Wishing you all the best!

I have a question regarding a joint sponsor. I have filed an IR-5 ( petion for parents of Us citizen), Me and my spouse have filled in and signed the I-864 and I-864A (affidavits of support), and both of us are US Citizens. For the joint sponsor my sister in law who is a US Citizen is completing the form I-864, her spouse ( my brother) is on H1 and working in the United States ( it is a working visa, but they have filed for IR1/CR1, green card for the spouse , it is not yet approved for him) my question is should he file a I-864A, and could my sister in law include his income in her I-864..

Thank you .

No since he's not yet a Legal Permanent Resident/US Citizen.

You are overdue for an interview date.

There's no harm in trying to expedite since it will have no adverse effect on your case and moreso, prolonged delay in processing of cases is one of the reasons for expedition.

Best of luck..!

The date it changes from At NVC to In Transit is the date your case left NVC while the date it changes from In transit to Ready is the date the US embassy where your interview will be conducted received the case.

To all my fellow Mexicans who have bee  waiting months for an appt in Juarez, on what grounds have you guys been successful in expediting? My cc 4/19 but dont think I will have a successful expedite and will end up waiting longer.

I know right ...I wonder if expedite on grounds of NVC delays after 3 months from CC would work?  It's from the letter of CC that we would get appt within 60 days to 90 days.

Denied request for expedition has no adverse effect on your case. There's no harm in trying.

Well it's not so bad waiting for me since I am in Mexico with hubby.  However, the thing is I am not Mexican and I cant speak Spanish.  I missed home.  I want to be home already.  It's been 2 years already.  I cant wait another 6 months for interview.
