We’re in AP. No one old us about writing a letter to prove we qualify for the waiver. Where do we start? As the US citizen am I supposed to write the letter or is he? Also should I hire an attorney to put together the packet or should I do it on my own? We’re desperate for any help. Ty.

There is no waiver for AP.  There is no way to expedite AP.  There is no way to estimate the length of AP.

What is the waiver for? Pretty hard to answer in a meaningful way without that.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

If you are seeking waiver information for the travel ban, I found several good articles when I googled "travel ban waiver".  One is a pdf document which is quite detailed.  Unfortunately, travel ban waivers are as scarce as hen's teeth....I have not heard of a single successful case.....good luck in your journey.

We filed for a K1 Visa and we’re done with the interview. The embassy put us in AP and are seeing if we qualify for the waiver. I heard you can put together a waiver packet or letter but I’m not sure where to begin.

Waivers are for specific issues.......AP is not a waiver-able issue.

So there’s no way to submit a letter to help us receive a waiver? I heard some ppl wrote trying to prove the following: 1: How your fiancé doesn’t as a threat to the US. 2. How they would benefit the US and 3. How it’s causimg hardship.

You don't get it.......For what issue do you need a waiver???  There is no general waiver!!!!

I was just reaponding to someone else who was asking what I was applying for. Yikes. I appreciate the help but do you have to respond like that? If I was an attorney myself I wouldn’t be asking but this seems like a place to ask any question since Im just trying to get answers.

@Tierra if I remember your story correctly, your fiancé visa was denied due to Iran being a banned country. (My fiancé is from Iran, but currently a Norwegian citizen.) My fiancé has had some contact from an Iranian woman in LA who practices immigration law, I can get you her information if you're interested. I think it would probably be best to look into getting a lawyer for wadding through the travel ban waiver process. Hoping you guys can get something figured out soon, it's so hard not having any details on overcoming a situation like this.

No waiver for AP. None.

AP is a standard process of background/security checks and other things.

Everyone goes through it. Some last 2-3 days, some last 2-3 weeks, 2-3 months, some a year or more.

There is no way around it. The consulate has final say in all. Like others have said there isn't anything that can be done about AP.

Waivers and such are only for as noted, specific things like having a ban from entering the US, and some other things; but doesn't mean that the waiver would be approved either. Nothing is guaranteed. Nothing to do with AP though.
