Agreed, not civil disobedience in such that one could be punished, but rather a means to protest and in this case without fear of punishment.  My main response thought was the action against the status quo which is a big reason Trump was elected.  Enough folks in enough states did not want 4 more years of Obama.  This in itself is pretty cyclical, many times in the history of this country, a party that holds the presidency especially for 8 years loses in the next election as folks fight against the status quo.  The George H.W. Bush victory was actually an historical anomaly.

Obama had already done 8 years, he couldn't be elected for another 4 years... And it's still not civil obedience.

Many folks were looking at Hillary Clinton and more generally, the Democrats maintaining control of the WH as status quo and another 4 years of Obama's policies (not literally Obama being elected to a third term).  I believe I already agreed with the fact that it (voting) is not civil disobedience, but rather a form of legal protest.  Are you reading my responses?

by that standard, every vote is protest. voting isn't protest. you could argue refusing to vote is protest, but i don't see how voting is protest at all - no matter where the vote is going.

Yes, I am I just don't see the logic. And comparing Hillary to Obama is like comparing apples to shoes. Obama was okay and Hillary wants to ban certain video games... Right... (yes, I know I'm simplifying their differences)

My point was that the party in power in the WH for eight years rarely gets another term regardless of the candidate, there are exceptions, but few.  I believe there are only like 2 or 3 examples of sitting VPs getting the victory.  People do not just vote for the person, they also vote for the party.  Regardless, it is off topic, I have been told that voting cannot be protest,, so I must be wrong.

there are many other symbols/hand gestures associated with white supremacy..88, 12 words etc.

I believe they call them neo-nazi's now. They usually march together in either white or grey shirts with ties (might vary depending on location in the world) sometimes all black outfits. Have either short cut or shaven head and doing hitler salutes. Sometimes if they're scared they will cover their faces with masks. If they're super scared they will also have those shields that cops use to control crowds.
