Hi everybody,

i want to apologize if I’m posting this in the wrong forum but I wasn’t sure where to post my question. I’ll make a long story short. I’m a german citizen born in Germany and both my parents are Iranian. They’ve been living here in Germany for over 30 years. My husband is in the airforce and it’s time for him to leave his assignment in Germany and return to the U.S. we’ve already filled the i-130 and everything went fine. I’m at the part now where I have to do my ds-260 etc. I don’t have an Iranian passport. Been to Iran once my entire life 15 years ago. I’m wondering if I will run into any issues or if my visa could be denied just on the fact that my parents are Iranian? I’m very worried. We also have a child together and this is just a very bad situation if for any reason I’ll be denied. Has anyone gone through this with a spouse and got denied? Pls help! This has been heavy on my mind and I just hope my family can stay together.

This is not a reason for denial, and you are not impacted by the travel ban as a dual citizen.

The past trip and/or Iranian citizenship may or may not result in longer AP due to background checks...nobody can say for sure.

Thank you for the quick answer! When I was reading about the law and restriction on ppl than can or can not get a immigrant visa, I saw that it said dual citizens are not affected. I prepared to be questioned simply because of my background. If it takes a bit longer for any reason, I’ll be fine with that! Thank you again ☺️

As @geowrian said you shouldn't have any problems but don't be surprised if you get asked about it and that it may/may not result in AP. But overall I think you will be fine.

I’ll definitely see the questioning coming. Thank you! I hope I’ll be fine too. I started the paperwork early just in case.
