Affidavit of Support

Hello there. 

 Im having a hard time with my i864. We had a joint sponsor but he still no show and im almost ready with my AOS package so i was wondering can my husband  meet the requirements even tho the past 3 years tax return werent enough, he has a new job since January and he could meet the requirements with this new job so could we do the affidavit without the joint sponsor or do i really still need one ?

Current income is king. If he can demonstrate this current income is sufficient, then he should be fine.

 

Current income for an employee is best demonstrated via pay stubs and an employment letter. The tax return(s) still are required, but would not be the biggest factor in the decision.

Thank you very much i’ve been stressing over this lately and i do have the pay stubs from the last 6 months n the employment letter as well and tax return from last year only so should we send the last 3 years tax return or just the last year ? And is not a problem that he’s been in this job for 6 months only ?

Only the most recent year's tax return is required. Since they were under the minimums, I wouldn't be particularly inclined to show them.

Six months is a little short, but I've seen people approved with shorter employments terms. The IO makes the call based on the totality of the circumstances..
