I have read various conflicting information regarding whether or not all the signatures on the documents sent off with the application need to be originals or whether they can be photocopies?

Obviously with the distance, me having to sign all the copies of the letters and then post them would add a fair amount of times to the process of getting everything together. Could I sign my documents and then scan and email them for my partner to print off and include in the application? Has anyone else done this and been ok in the initial acceptance?

Never send originals to USCIS or the embassy/consulate unless they explicitly ask for them.

Here's what the official I-129F instructions document says:

Quote

Copies. You should submit legible photocopies of documents requested, unless the Instructions specifically state that you
must submit an original document. USCIS may request an original document at the time of filing or at any time during
processing of an application, petition, or request. If USCIS requests an original document from you, it will be returned to
you after USCIS determines it no longer needs your original.

NOTE: If you submit original documents when not required or requested by USCIS, your original documents may be
immediately destroyed upon receipt.

As for signing, scanning and emailing documents, that's fine.

One should never be concerned with any issues or costs relating to immigration. Mailing is the cheap stuff.

But, for the I-129f, the beneficiary can scan and email their paperwork with signatures to the petitioner. The USC(petitioner) should always send in "wet" signature forms.

When, as about poster said about "never send originals", in this case, except let's say if you are using a birth certificate to prove citizenship, there is no real such thing as "originals", everything is technically a copy anyways.
