Process for changing surname on Philippines passport

My wife and I got married recently and she would like to change her Philippines passport status and her (last) name to her legally married name.  It is my understanding that this can be done through a Philippines consulate.  Is anyone familiar with the process that's involved?  I tried calling the one in Los Angeles but I got pushed to a full mailbox.  Basically I need to know, can I set-up an appointment before coming there?  What will I need to bring with my wife in order to change her name in the passport?  How much does it cost?  Etc.  I tried googling this and calling the consulate, with marginal results, hence I was hoping if there was someone more knowledgeable than myself on this subject who could lend me a hand.  Thank you kindly in advance!

If you got married here in the US, you need to report your marriage to the consulate. You can search for the process on how to do so. After reporting the marriage, you will receive an authenticated marriage certificate from PSA, in which she can use to have her name change in her passport. If you got married in the Philippines you just have to bring your marriage certificate released by the PSA. It’s 60 dollars for the fee. It’s a walk in basis too, no need for an appointment.
