Hi everyone,

I need a little help with the interview experience because i will go to one a month from now. I feel a little bit nervous so I hope people can share your experience with me about their owns (how long does it take, anything unexpected happens to you, etc). I will very appreciate, thank you!

It's natural to be nervous---I was on pins and needles the entire time for my AOS interview.

Really, it's mostly just the IO looking at a lot of paperwork, stapling papers, hole-punching papers, and verifying information they already have infront of them.

Basic questions will be asked that any bonafide couple would know the answer to.

Our interview was maybe 20 minutes long.  At the end she stamped my foreign passport and stood up and shook our hands.

In the car, we looked at each other like "uh, what just happened, were we approved??" lol

The visa experience at the U.S. consulate in Vietnam is crazy. Get there early, like at 7 a.m. Don't talk to any of the locals hanging out in front of the Consulate. They try to scam you - don't talk to them. Take your invitation letter to the guard(s) by the gate located to the right of the windows. You'll see the guard. Just talk to him. Show him your letter. Don't drag a bunch of stuff into the consulate. Bring all of your paperwork - everything! Be organized. They get upset if you're not prepared and organized. Don't be scared. They want to help you. The consulate seems a little disorganized and chaotic. Just pay attention to what you need to do. You might see someone crying because they got denied, etc. Don't let it get to you. Most of the interviews are good. If your English is a little weak, don't worry. They will help you. Stay focused and don't look nervous. It might last 5 minutes, maybe a little more. It goes quick. You'll be OK, Be prepared. Be organized. Be confident. :)

I believe the OP is doing the Adjustment of Status interview at a USCIS field office in the USA?

At least that's the impression I got since this thread is posted in the AOS forum section.
