Hello awesome VJ users!

For some very much needed peace of mind with the ROC process I thought I’d share my list of evidence to hopefully receive some feedback. We plan to send out our packet soon, but could probably acquire additional evidence if we forgot something.

We made sure that whenever possible, this evidence covers the entire time frame of our marriage and shows both names, start dates etc.

Thank you SO much for your help! This community has helped us more than anything through this process.

Shared residence

1. Copy of leases for our old and new address

2. Copies of rent checks for every month since we got married from joint account

3. Photocopies of our IDs showing the same address

4. Letter from our current landlord to USCIS

5. Copies of BGE bills, 1 per quarter

6. Mails addressed to us with showing the same address

Shared liabilities/memberships

7. Photocopies of Health insurance cards

8. Copies of Health insurance Explanation of benefits, 1 per quarter

9. Copy or our gym membership contract signed by both of us

10. Letter from Geico showing we are on the same policy and start date

11. Letter from Geico listing me as driver of his vehicle

12. Geico bills, 1 per quarter

13. Letter from pet insurance showing both names and start date

14. Vet bills showing both of us as owners, 2 per year

15. Photocopies of our AAA membership cards

16. Letter from AAA showing we are on the same policy & start date

16. MPOAs

Shared finances

17. Copies of our joint checking account cards and copies of statements, 1 per quarter

18. Letter from bank stating when we opened the account (right after marriage)

19. Joint tax returns for 2016 and 2017 including W2s and K1s

20. IRS transcript for 2016 and letters of IRS correspondence for 2017 taxes

21. His life insurance showing me as beneficiary

Proof of shared life

22. Lots of photos, including instagram and facebook screenshots

23. Cards from friends addressing both of us

24. 3 notarized affidavits

25. Copy of wedding band receipt and some payment statements

26. Copies of boarding passes for a couple trips we took together, plus his passport stamps

QUESTIONS

1. I am aware that we don’t have a lot to show for shared finances :/ I am unable to get a credit card with him because I don’t yet have a credit score as I go to school at the moment. We tried to compensate for this by including lots of other evidence, will this be okay? Is there anything absolutely unnecessary in this packet, or missing?

2. I know we could get me on the title of his car but it would show the last minute date and cost $200. Should we still do this for a possible RFE?

3. Our IDs are very new because we realized we never changed the addresses on our old ones. Obviously the old address was joint too, so I thought I would include copies of both sets of IDs and a short explanation, to not raise any red flags for the recent date on the new IDs. What do you think?

4. We live with my brother in law as roommate, should I explain  why we can't yet afford to live in our own house?

You have loads of evidence.

1.  Don't worry about credit cards.  You are showing your checking account paying your lease - that's good enough.  Copies of every rent check is excessive, in my book.  Just do quarterly for that.

2.  Don't worry about the car title.  You've got the better evidence showing both of you on the car insurance.

3.  Your explanation about IDs is fine.

4.  The fact that you live with your BIL is a moot point.  Many married couples have roommates to help with expenses.  No explanation needed.

You'll be fine!  Good luck!
