My fiancée and I are January 2018 filers, almost 7 months into our wait for NOA2 now.  She made 2 trips to the US last year.  When we filed for the K-1 visa, we printed her electronic I-94 forms to show that she was in this country.

I just got back from a trip to see her.  In total, I visited 4 countries in 5 weeks:

  • UK: Transit only.  Since I didn't leave the airport, I didn't need a transit visa and didn't get a passport stamp.
  • Singapore (her birth country, where she is a citizen): Both of us went there for about 2 weeks.  My passport was only stamped on my initial arrival, not when we left.
  • Malaysia: We took a day trip here for a pre-wedding photoshoot.  I got passport stamps both entering and exiting Malaysia.
  • Australia (her current country, where she is a permanent resident): I was there with her for about 3 weeks.  I asked for a passport stamp both when I got there and when I left and was told that Australia no longer stamps passports.

Usually what I've seen here (in terms of proving that you made the trip) is that I should use boarding passes, passport stamps, and photos at recognizable landmarks.  I have some questions:

  1. Since I have boarding passes and luggage tags for all of my flights, and photos of me and my fiancée in both Singapore and Australia, should I be concerned about an RfE based on not having passport stamps?
  2. Do Singapore or Australia have equivalent online systems to the Electronic I-94, which I can use to prove that I was in these countries?
  3. What else can/should I use in lieu of my printed passport to show USCIS that I made this trip?

June 2016: We started writing to each other

June-July 2017: Met in person in the US for our first anniversary

December 2017 - January 2018: Met again in the US and got engaged

01/09/2018: I-129F sent to the USCIS Dallas Lockbox via FedEx

01/16/2018: Received NOA1 (NOA1 notice date: 01/11/2018)

June-July 2018: Met in person in Singapore and Australia for our second anniversary

08/03/2018: Notice date on our NOA2 (updated in USCIS's new website on August 6)

08/15/2018: Our case reached NVC

08/22/2018: Received NVC case number

09/04/2018: Our package left NVC (arrived 9/11, and she sent packet 3 that day)

09/20/2018: Received packet 4; scheduled interview

10/30/2018: Interview - told that we're approved!  Now waiting to receive the visa...
11/27/2018: Port of Entry at BWI

12/1/2018: Our wedding!

12/8/2018: Filed AoS on the way to our honeymoon (12/8-15/2018)
6/~7/2019: EAD and AP approved
09/25/2019: AOS interview in Orlando -- approval and green card!

Next step, June 2019: Filing I-751

Note: My wife is a Singaporean.  She moved to Australia before we met and got permanent residency there.

  1. Since I have boarding passes and luggage tags for all of my flights, and photos of me and my fiancée in both Singapore and Australia, should I be concerned about an RfE based on not having passport stamps?  You said you are January filer's, so no wouldn't be concerned. Even for ongoing evidence at the interview you can show what you have. Mistakes can be made as in the no exit stamp, it happens. The traveling together alone shows a lot.
  2. Do Singapore or Australia have equivalent online systems to the Electronic I-94, which I can use to prove that I was in these countries? Not sure honestly.
  3. What else can/should I use in lieu of my printed passport to show USCIS that I made this trip? Again you already submitted the I-129f in January you said, so any of this evidence would be used for the embassy level during the interview. Gather what you have even just such as visiting them in Sinapore. Photos are good at this stage also especially if they are easily recognizeable landmarks in other countries. Text messages showing you both discussing the travel can help verify it. Any boarding passes from both of you showing same flight # and destination is more than enough I would think.

You have a lot more evidence than a lot of people honestly with a lot of trips and even traveling together. I wouldn't over think and stress too much on a couple missing items.

The documentation you are gathering now is to prove that you continued your relationship at the interview. So you won't receive an RFE for not having it, because an RFE is based on what you have already submitted and you can't add more things to your packet unless you receive an RFE because it wasn't in the packet at the beginning. Assuming that you already proved in your I-129 that you have been together within the past two years, all of this will only be for the interview.

You will want to be able to prove that you have continued the relationship at the interview and the things that you have along with an updated letter of intent to marry, proof of conversations, photos, travel, etc will be what they look at. Not everyone that goes through the K-1 sees their fiancé after they file, so you have more documentation already that others.

Sometimes when I travel I also do not get stamps.

Since I met my honey I ask them to stamp it, sometimes they think I'm nuts because I do a motion of making a stamp on my passport over and over again until they do it! LOL! (If they do not know English "Can you stamp it please?) - but it works. I will NOT leave that stupid cubicle after waiting an hour in a hot line before i get my damn STAMPS!

i took my kids up to toronto last week. agent looked at me like i was nuts when i asked her to stamp my kids passports ( i dont care abut mine, we have plenty of evidence). she was like ' do you need it for his immigration (we had already had the im visiting my fiance discussion). i said no, my kids just want a stamp in their book. she did theirs (albeit somewhat begrudgingly lol)  and not mine (really, come on, you had all 3 right there, but whatever lolololol)

^^This right here is a visa stamp I would think?

You want something that shows you were there, when you were there. While of course it's best to have stamps for all the countries, having at least the one (with valid explanations for why you don't have the other stamps) I think would be good enough. And of course, as you said, you have a pile of other evidence.

Yes, it is.  I didn't get another stamp upon re-entering Singapore or at any time while in Australia.
