Appeal was dissmised... wait, what appeal?

So I saw the email from USCIS in my mailbox and my heart skipped a beat because I thought my RoC was approved.

Instead the email states:

"Application Type: I751, PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS ON RESIDENCE

Your Case Status: Post Decision Activity

Your appeal was dismissed and the original decision on your case, Receipt Number EAC1729***** , remains the same. "

What appeal?? I never appealed anything. O.o I quickly checked the status on my USCIS website and it still sits on "case was received ".

The status on Egov website is "Appeal was dissmised".

the case history also shows the update at 30/07 saying:

"We received your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, and we are working on your case. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you."

VJ, what's going on? Should I panic now?

That seems odd. Probably a mistake. Did you call? I'd make an appointment if they can't help you on the phone.

I send out application from overseas, we are stationed in Germany right now. I wasn't required to have biometrics. This is the first update aside from " Case moved to local office " in April.

I'm calling them now. Was wondering of anyone else got this case status also and I'm not going to lie, it made me nervous.

I think I've seen people say they've had random notifications due to system glitches as the guy above me said.

But yeah, I could see why that would give cause to worry. Def call and see what they have to say.

I called and they said it's probably a glitch but in order to be sure they will have me connected with tier2 officer. All of them were busy so I set up a call back- or at least tried but I suppose they don't accept European numbers lol.

Anyway, this still sucks even if it's a glitch it gave me a small heart attack. I'm currently outside of the base and I can't use toll free phone so I'll have to wait 2 weeks until my vacation ends to call them again. (Just spend 20€ on this call so nope, not doing it again).

Damn you USCIS for your glitches. When I saw USCIS email I thought I was approved. :D

I have used Skype which has proven to be the most "cheaper" method for international calls and depending on what you bought, it gives you an number, in other words you have a US phone number wherever you go....just need internet.

Hope it goes well for you. Keep us posted! I agree with trying Skype credits. They are usually pretty inexpensive as long as you have internet.

I use Google Hangouts for calls like that. It's basically free, or has a very low rate.. like from $0.15 to $0.05 or $0.01 depending on the number
