You need a little more patience.  Not all case files are assigned a case number in any type of order, so to compare yours to someone else's timeline and expecting the same results just isn't what we find to be the "norm".

Get the Canadian K1 P3 letter at http://photos.state.gov/libraries/canada/303578/montreal/Packet3-K1-MTL.pdf as this is your bible needed to complete and receive your visa. The required documents are included and use the P3 as a check list. Once you have completed or gathered the required documents you'll be ready for your interview. If it is not on the Embassy letter, it probably is not needed.

 

Last but not least, READ the pages on the US Embassy website for you country so that you are up to speed.

You can't hurry it along at all. You have to wait for P3 which takes 2-4 weeks from Ready. Comply with what they ask for in P3 (the actually one they send you) by sending them a copy of the signed P3 checklist, your DS160 confirmation and your Passport Bio. Then they send you P4. Then they tell you to register to schedule and you'll wait some more for interviews to open up, which only happens once a month during the last week of the month for two months ahead UNLESS you are lucky and you scoop up a cancellation. Get your medical appointment first so you can schedule the interview shortly afterwards.

Within the notification they reference that the instructions are for a I-130 which is an immigrant visa for CR-1 married couples. You are under a non-immigrant K1 visa using the I-129f application. So ignore this.

 

First, don't begin calling for 10 business days after you get your text message (NOA2). Second, you will need the Petitioner's and Beneficiaries full name and date of birth.

 

Call 603-334-0700 or 603-334-0888 Be prepared for a wait. Tell the operator that you are requesting a case number for your K-1. They will ask for the receipt number located on the left top of your I-797 (NOA2) form. Then he/she will either tell you that they have not received your case or you will be asked for the names and date of birth. If they don't have the case, you will be told it can take 30 to 45 days for them to receive it and to wait however many days/weeks and call back. That's a pad answer so ignore it. You can call back the next day or as often as you want. NVC's hours are 7am to 12 am (midnight) eastern time. Monday through Friday except Federal Holidays. Calling early at 7 am on the dot will get you in the fastest or calling late the lines to be open most often.

 

When you have your case number, enter it here https://ceac.state.g...ker/status.aspx and it will tell you one of three things... At NVC, In Transit, or Ready.

 

After the case number follow these instructions:

 

Once you receive your case number it's time to be in charge of what time you choose when things get done. To smooth that trail for you I have a few things that will help you process your visa there in the Philippines.

 

Start by visiting Hanks site where he has taken the time and research, and of course it helps if you spent 8 plus years helping folks in the Philippines sub-forum get their visas, where he has listed each step. With those steps he includes the what, when and why to completing the item. Many have used the website and have had little or NO problems securing a visa from USEM.

That's why I'm confused because on the email inquiry I said we are approved under K1 visa and provided the detailed info. Thanks for the help!  I'll call them next week.

Is there a difference between the case number we get from the NVC and an invoice number. I read on the official website for the US consulate in Mexico that if I dont have an invoice number I can use the beneficiaries birthdate.

You can use the same photo as long as you have not changed your appearance like cut your hair short from long, change your hair style, colored your hair, changed your glasses if you wear them. Technically, if the photo is more than 6 months old they want new ones but why do that if nothing has changed. They don't know when the picture was taken as there is no date embossed on the photo.

Yes there is a difference. Call NVC and ask for your invoice number. Put it in a safe place in the event it's asked for again.

You can't see what is or isn't correct as the form does not have that functionality. Here is a good primer for completing the DS=160. http://www.visajourney.com/content/ds-160-help-and-frequently-asked-questions-faqs Also, I have these two from two Embassy's. The DS-160 is the same for most Embassy's. When you are filling it out for your country only country specific questions may appear. So if the example doesn't show it, that goes for all links I share here with you, then don't panic as it isn't a requirement for your country.

And I apologize if this question has been asked a million times I jusssst want to clarify 

 

In Part 3 Question 38 it aks - 

I intend or do not intend to make specific contributions to the support of the person named in part 2 (me)

 

(We do not have a co sponsor and I am not getting any sort of allowance or anything from my fiance...)

 

Do we leave this blank for K1's and not tick either box? And then just add this at the end? As this is what the template form on VJ states..
