How to consider the situation without income in a year, but with the availability of money.

Earlier it was about 3-5 times more to multiply this amount in the table. I do not remember
Where to find this information
Thank you

What assets can be used?

Any type of asset can be used if it is readily convertible to cash within a year. Liquid assets, such as savings deposits, stocks, bonds, and certificates of deposit will be viewed most favorably because they would be most accessible for the support of sponsored immigrants. Other assets, such as property, may also be acceptable if they can be sold within a year.

You will probably asked for evidence establishing ownership and the value and location of your assets maybe required. Be prepared to summit information on any liens and/or liabilities relating to these assets. For bank accounts, bank statements for the most recent 12 months, or a letter from the bank stating the date the account was opened, a history of deposits and withdrawals for the past year, and the current balance are needed.

The sponsor may count income that is not subject to taxation (such as a housing allowance), as well as taxable income (such as retirement and/or social security). However the sponsor must prove the nature and the amount of any income if it is not included as wages/salary or other taxable income. Evidence of such income can be shown through notations on the W-2 Form (such as box 13, for military allowances), Form 1099, or other documents that substantiate the claimed income.

How do you know this? Have seen several dates flying round the forums as to when nvc sends out cases....

Take a look at posts on sept 4 and go back 14 calendar days in the nvc forums. You will see a pattern that everyone says case in transit.

Now this applies to cases sent electronically, the majority of which are. If it’s mailed it’s not under this process.

Hello! We received our NOA2 Aug 22, called today and got our NVC number YAY!

Obviously its now the weekend so I just wanted to double check if this means on Monday I can schedule the medical? I'm concerned about randomly getting a date thats soon and not receiving the NVC email in time!! Should I wait?? I'm a LDN K1 process. I've heard/seen some things about the NVC sending the packets out in batches, does anyone have an idea of when the next batch is going out? I'm sure there's a way to search the forums and find it but I can't seem to manage it 😅

Hi all! I received my NOA2 on Aug 22. Two days ago I filled out the inquiry form on the NVC website since 2 weeks had passed. I haven't heard anything back from them. Do they normally respond soon after you fill out the form, or wait until they have information for you to respond? I'm trying to decide if I should spend my time calling or just wait until they respond with the assumption that they will when they have info. Anyone have any experience on taking the passive approach in this?

Unfortunately I'm not in a hurry. We didn't pay attention to my fiance's passport expiration and he had to send it off for renewal days before we got our NOA2. So we have to wait 60 days (or so they say) to get it back since he lives abroad. So a couple of days here or there isn't going to slow us down. I'm trying to figure out what all we can do while we wait for him to get it back.

Congrats!! I think you can schedule the medical already. Not sure though since we have a different embassy. Next batch will be on the 18th of September.

I personally would call and ask when the next available appointment is just incase it’s a month or so away. I managed to get an appointment within a couple weeks but at one point it was about 1 month wait. If the earliest appointment is too soon for you then just ask for a later appointment, you don’t have to go with the earliest one. Remember you need your police certificate, vaccination record, patient care summary, etc for the medical so make sure you have enough time to get those if you haven’t already 😊

For the medical I used the PDF that NVC sent when they dispatched our application to the embassy as proof of the case number. They accepted that with no problems so you don’t necessarily need to wait for a hardcopy of the letter from NVC before attending the interview. I’ve heard other people just using screenshots of the CEAC tracker as proof of case number as well.

Hi everyone!

I have an NOA2 date of August 21st and I just called NVC for the first time tonight. I was able to get my case number and invoice ID, as well as add my email (I'm the beneficiary) to our case file. The person I talked to was more than helpful, and also let me know that the first and last correspondence we would receive from NVC would be an email notifying us when our case left NVC and was headed to my embassy (Montreal). 😊

When you called them, you chose option 2 right ?  NVC recieved my case on August 23rd and still no case number!
