My I-130 (CR1) petition was approved on August 8th

NVC recieved my petition on August 23rd

but still no case number!

Called them today but they told me to wait.

Should I keep calling or wait for the welcome letter ?

NVC number received today! Also when checking the ceac status, it says invalid case number but I’m just assuming that’s because the site hasn’t been updated yet? Maybe after tomorrow the case number will be updated?

already completed ds-160. Will pay MRV fee and schedule medical today.

I’d advise not to pay anything until your case is sent to the embassy, the next batch isn’t slated to ship for another 2 weeks

Fair enough, probably makes sense.

Do the petitions only get sent a few times a month?

Thanks for the advice.

NOA 2 (26th of August).  Hopefully by next week Friday case number should be ready.

By my calculations, next shipment to different US consulates should be (18/19). Filling my DS 160 form as interview dates are hard to come by in this part of the world.

Tentative interview date is (9/10 October). That would allow for two weeks for medicals

My case is in transit but I can't find it on dhl.com. Does it still mean that my case was send?

Right, so, might be being stupid here... But how on earth do I schedule the interview? Our case has been sent to the embassy by NVC, it's marked as in-transit. But the interview scheduling website says "The Immigrant Visa case number provided is not ready to schedule an appointment"

I’m having the same problem! I’m London embassy too.

I emailed the email address in the error message but they just told me to make sure I’m on the immigrant version of the site, and that I select the option related to K visas (what I was already doing). I’ve just replied to say that’s what I’ve already tried and it still doesn’t work so I’ll see what they say. Maybe we just have to wait until the status is ‘ready’ but others in the last batch were able to book their interview while it was still ‘in-transit’ so it’s frustrating!

At least since it’s not working for either of us it might mean that they just haven’t added our case numbers to their system yet rather than there being a problem! Glad I’m not the only one!

You have given the answer yourself :-)

It is still in transit and you can schedule an appointment when the status changes to "ready"

In transit means your case is on it's way to the embassy.  That means it was sent.
