@Greenbaum you are right, I got an email from the Peruvian Embassy and I am able to go with Bryan to his interview! Thank you for the nudge to email them! Now my next challenge - I paid the Visa fee, but I cannot get the NVC portal to allow me to pay any other processing fees. I am kinda freaking out because I think I missed a step. I did not submit my financials to NVC. Can you give me guidance please? I thought I was just supposed to take to interview

You are not to submit anything to NVC and any point now & going forward. Everything that is in the instructions you have is what you are to do. IGNORE NVC Please. That's why you are confused.

Hey guys! Has anyone attended  thier interview in Jamaica without p3 letter????

You seem to think you have to have the P3 letter for the interview. Do you mean the physical P3 letter with you at the interview. Or are you saying you completed what you think is need because you don't have the P3 letter? BIG Difference! Please explain your meaning.

@GreenbaumOkay thank you so much. The Embassy told me that I needed to bring only the items listed in the Pre-interview checklist at this link - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/LMA_Lima.html#pre_interview_checklist HOWEVER, it does not say anything at all about financials. How do I know 100 % sure what to bring to our interview?

Confirmation page from the Form DS-260 Application for an Immigrant Visa you submitted online. You need to submit the DS-160 which is for a K-1.

For family-based visa applications:

  • The appropriate Form I-864 Affidavit of Support for each financial sponsor along with a photocopy of the sponsor’s IRS transcript or most recent U.S. federal income tax return, and any relevant W-2s. Ignore this but follow financials below.

  • Proof of your U.S. petitioner’s status and domicile in the United States (photocopy of both sides of the Lawful Permanent Resident card I-551, Certificate of Naturalization, or U.S. passport).

  • Evidence of the relationship between the petitioner and visa applicant (such as photographs, letters, or emails).

Bring this to the interview: EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT. You should be able to demonstrate that you will not become a public charge or be a burden on the U.S. taxpayers for financial support. A completed I-134 Affidavit of Support Form K1/K2 Interview Preparation Instructions – English (February 2014)  Page 3 of 9 with an original signature will be useful to the consular officer to evaluate your petitioner’s ability to be financially responsible for you. You should also submit your petitioner’s most recent U.S. Federal income tax return (Form 1040) and wage statements (Form W-2). Employment letters stating salaries and bank statements may be included to substantiate the I-134. Get the IRS transcript in place of the actual 1040 here: https://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript

@Greenbaum Hi! What are the ways you can fail in the drug use category on your Medical Exam? The doctor made my fiance really nervous because he smoked weed in his past. It almost seems laughable, but waiting a week for results after hearing that made him feel really really nervous. I cannot imagine that a Visa would be denied for a reason like past marijuana use. Do you have any links or knowledge on this subject?

I can only tell you what the medical facility in the Philippines does for this subject. They do an interview and if the "applicant" has used any drugs in the past, and wants to admit (that is the best way - to be honest with your answers) to it, then what they do is schedule he or she for a phycological interview with their psychologist. Then interview takes place about 2 weeks from the exam or sooner if slots are available and the psychologist will ask about the history. Most pass this part as many have tried drugs/dope when they were younger and haven't partake in such activities any longer. The write up goes to the Embassy with their medical report. I see most not have a problem with this issue. Your mileage may vary.

For all of us that are Approved for Visas or about to be (in my case) what is the next thread for our January filers? Is there one for AOS

It will be Aos forum. It all depends on which month u file for Aos to determine where and who will be there with u.

Im guessing there will be many different types and not just k1 once u move over to Aos forum.

IN REGARDS TO WHICH DATE TO USE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

noa1 date is actually they date on ur hard copy. Sadly if u reach the magical 220 day u must wait till 225 to contact Uscis. They use what the new site says. Even if ur paper says X date.

They added 5 days onto everyone’s accepted on NOA1
