So I have sent back my Packet 3 to the Consulate in Amsterdam. I signed the paper to request an interview. I heard that the P4 will be send via email. The only thing is: they didn’t asked me to write down my email address on the paper.. So now I am scared they won’t email the P4 to me.. The USCIS and the NVC know my email  but do they send that information with your case to the Consulate?

They have access to your email address from case file. BTW how did you receive your P3?

Okay awesome thanks! They send me a letter with instruction and requested me to send the DS-160 confirmation page, copy of passport and a signed request for an interview back :)

but I though they would send me an email within a day after receiving my documents but I haven’t got anything...

Set your expectations lower and so when something does not happen when you think it should you won't be disappointed. Just my experience. More patience is needed.

Did you know that case files are sent electronically to USEM from NVC, then followed up a few days afterward with the paper case file hence that's why you have two dates. 'Pretty Accurate" I must admit. :D I bet you have been waiting for your file to be set to ready before you starting the paperwork and scheduling the interview and medical there in the Philippines.

@Greenbaum Thanks for your assumptions but my fiancé finished his medical weeks before his interview :) Clearly you've been reading a LOT of cases here on VJ so you tend to conclude what you read right away. Again, on our case.. CEAC says READY but they won't interview him (yes he had an appointment) because they need the PAPER CASE FILE on hand. So I won't be so confident that they send it electronically only.

WAIT AT LEAST FOUR DAYS OR MORE for your case to arrived at your embassy. That's what happened to us.

is it necessary to have the packet before the interview?

It's not necessary. Helpful yes but most of the requirements can be found online that shared their experiences. What's necessary is for your case to arrive on the Embassy PHYSICALLY.

If you had read what I said More carefully, and understood its meaning your answer would have been different. I said "Did you know that case files are sent electronically to USEM from NVC, then followed up a few days afterward with the paper case file hence that's why you have two dates."

Let's agree to disagree and I won't comment or extend help to you if you don't comment on my posts.

Good luck.

Good luck.

So my case will change to Ready a day after NVC sends it out usually and it will take a few more days after for the physical papers?

I ask because i actually managed to schedule an interview October 18th thanks to your resources and my case is still at NVC until next Tuesday or Wednesday based on what you said before. Just want to be sure its physically there before the interview date

What resource did you use to schedule an interview already? I wanna do it too! I think I missed that one. @Greenbaum am I able to schedule our interview for early November if the Peru embassy has an opening? Case is not at NVC yet but I am assuming it will be in about 2-3 weeks. I would love to have my fiance home for Thanksgiving and I want to be proactive (and yes, I know that it is not guaranteed :) ) I just want to be proactive since we waited a full 8 months for NOA2.

You should have plenty of time for case to arrive at your Embassy and be set to ready. Your Embassy will allow you to change your appointment if need be.

It may vary by country by I think it all goes through https://cgifederal.secure.force.com

You will need your nvc number and ds160 done

So close now Greenbaum! I hope i don't have to reschedule at the last moment though because that would be another month for the next interview at minimum

Oh @greenbaum why would I stop commenting and talking to the best adviser here in VJ? My point is, physical case is NECESSARY for the interview to continue. That's all it is :)

Thanks for the sincere Good Luck! All of us here need it.
