I'am filling out the I -134 form . It asks for the A #  for both the sponsor and the beneficiary . On the NOA2  there  are A# for my fiance and me . Should I use them on the form ? My fiance was never in the USA and I am the USC  . I'm a citizen through my naturalized parents  and I was a LPR before . I didn't apply for a naturalization certificate .

I would really appreciate any advice !

Hello everyone,

I am a bit confused regarding the police certificates, what are your packet 3 saying? I still do not have one but the one from Italy says that police certificates must be obtained when living in an other country for more than 12 months, is it the same on yours? Many people are telling me that it is actually 6 months and since I have lived in the UK for 11months that would then apply to me! Please help!

Packet 3 list of requirements are country/embassy-specific, so go with what it says for the embassy that will be processing your case.

If you have lived in any other country (I see @BJ & Christine has instructed you to get one for the UK) for 6 months or more since the age of 16, you'll need a PC from that country. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country.html

Once you arrive on the landing page look to the left column and chose the first letter in the country's name that you are searching for. Once you land on the page for that country then scroll about 3/4's of the way down till you see "Police, Court, Prison Records".  Select it. Then locate "Police Certificates" which should be the first entry. Then check the availability of getting a PC from that country. If it states "Available: Only if applicant is physically present in the "the country's name". If that is the case then screen shoot the page and print and bring to your interview in the event that you need to prove to the CO that a PC from that country is not available for you to get unless you are physically in the country. That should prevent any problems at the interview.

Use the A# from your NOA2. That is a number specifically given to the beneficiary and will be used throughout this process and others to follow.

Just a quick question about the I-134.

My fiancé is self employed. We’ve filled out the form completely and then he’s going to send me his last three years of IRS statements.

We’re over the poverty guidelines for sure, but will we need anymore information?

On the required documents for london, all it says is to bring the I-134 form..

The UK is vague in their instructions for the financials. I'll give you what should answer any question that the CO has at the interview. Maybe @BJ & Christine have a better suggestion.

You are required to complete Form I-134. If the income reported on this form or your tax return reflects income below the poverty guidelines for the year the form was submitted, submit evidence of your income. This can include the following documents:

  • For those who are employed by an individual or company, submit a photocopy of an employment letter, pay stub, or pay advance (direct-deposit receipt) that meets the criteria below:
    • Includes your name and the company’s name;
    • Is on signed, business letterhead (you cannot sign the letter yourself); and
    • Is issued within the last three months.
  • For those who are self-employed, obtain a photocopy of one of the following:
    • Your business license.
    • A signed letter on business letterhead that was written within in the last three months.
    • A contract between you as an independent contractor and a company.
  • For those who are unemployed or retired, submit a photocopy of ongoing income from other means, such as:
    • retirement benefits;
    • other household members' income; or
    • other significant assets.

EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT. You should be able to demonstrate that you will not become a public charge or be a burden on the U.S. taxpayers for financial support. A completed I-134 Affidavit of Support Form K1/K2 Interview Preparation Instructions – English (February 2014)  Page 3 of 9 with original signature will be useful to the consular officer to evaluate your petitioner’s ability to be financially responsible for you. You should also submit your petitioner’s most recent U.S. Federal income tax return (Form 1040) and wage statements (Form W-2). Employment letters stating salaries and bank statements may be included to substantiate the I-134.

is it necessary to have the packet before the interview?

If you want to pass it's a good idea. How else are you going to know the documents and procedures required for your Embassy and interview?

The only thing my fiance can now go back and see is the confirmation page... so we dont know what to do. Not sure if we were supposed to just put the invoice number and didn't or we just didnt need it...

Just bring the number along with you and if the CO requires it you'll have it with you. It's not a deal breaker so don't sweat it. Or, fill out another DS-160 but bring the confirmation page from the DS-160 that you would like to present to the CO.

Believe u are going to need bank statements showing deposits and with drawls. It's best to show any and all info that provides income.

Uk web site is very  vague on this.

 K and Diversity visa applicants are not required to provide an I-864 Form.  However, they must show evidence that they are not likely to become public charges while in the United States. There is no set for that this evidence must take but use of the form I-134 is an efficient way to provide this information to the Consular Officer.

probably be best to ask in U.K. Forums to get a better answer.

As we normally say "each Embassy is different" and yours is 12 months. The majority use 6 months so I leave it up to you what will work for you.

BTW would be so kind as to send me a copy via VJ PM of the P3 as I use it for those who come behind you, currently have no information from Italy. Thanks.
