If your income is at or above the poverty level guidelines then you do not need a co-sponsor unless your Embassy will ask for one at the interview. Most don't require a co-sponsor if you meet or exceed the guidelines. There is no official listing of who does or doesn't except a co-sponsor.

One last question today hahahaha In the DS-160 form there is this question "Has anyone ever filed an Immigrant petition on your behalf with the USCIS?" A:YES/NO

Does this refer prior our current petition?

Does this refer prior our current petition? Yes. So if none in the past, tick No

The key word is FILED. Not approved or completed. So has anyone ever FILED for you besides your current petitioner (in this case, you = beneficiary). If so YES, if not NO. Most answer it NO as they have never had a case FILED for them prior to their current petitioner.

My fiancee's interview is scheduled! It took us both several tries contacting support-australia (and dealing with their very unhelpful robo-messages that showed they didn't even read our emails) to get this done. For whatever reason, 8 days passed between her sending packet 3 and getting packet 4 with the interview date.

Anyway, it looks like the rumor that Sydney only does K-1 interviews one day out of each whole month is true. She was given a choice of September 25 or October 30. Even though she's off from work next week, she chose October 30 in part because we're still waiting for her police certificate from Singapore.

June 2016: We started writing to each other

June-July 2017: Met in person in the US for our first anniversary

December 2017 - January 2018: Met again in the US and got engaged

01/09/2018: I-129F sent to the USCIS Dallas Lockbox via FedEx

01/16/2018: Received NOA1 (NOA1 notice date: 01/11/2018)

June-July 2018: Met in person in Singapore and Australia for our second anniversary

08/03/2018: Notice date on our NOA2 (updated in USCIS's new website on August 6)

08/15/2018: Our case reached NVC

08/22/2018: Received NVC case number

09/04/2018: Our package left NVC (arrived 9/11, and she sent packet 3 that day)

09/20/2018: Received packet 4; scheduled interview

10/30/2018: Interview - told that we're approved! Now waiting to receive the visa...
11/27/2018: Port of Entry at BWI

12/1/2018: Our wedding!

12/8/2018: Filed AoS on the way to our honeymoon (12/8-15/2018)
6/~7/2019: EAD and AP approved
09/25/2019: AOS interview in Orlando -- approval and green card!

Next step, June 2019: Filing I-751

Note: My wife is a Singaporean. She moved to Australia before we met and got permanent residency there.

I'm a bit confused. You say you booked your interview in Sydney but your profile shows that your applying in Singapore. Can't be in two places for an interview.

I believe his fiancée is from Singapore, but living in Sydney and going through the Sydney Consulate

I believe that to be the case too. Maybe they should update their profile, then when one of us would like to answer their questions and lend a helping hand we'll know the Embassy. I hate giving wrong information to someone. Thanks for the tip.

I think you meant to say I-134. This is one of those questions that has an answer that some say it needs to be wet and others say it doesn't. With the expense one has to spend to get such a document to the beneficiary it's going to be your choice. IMHO I would email a copy and have the beneficiary print and bring to the interview. USCIS doesn't require wet signatures but your Embassy is controlled by DOS and DOS hasn't publicly announced their policy.

Here is the USCIS policy on wet signatures.

"A signature is valid even if the original signature is later photocopied, scanned, faxed, or similarly reproduced. Regardless of how it is transmitted to USCIS, the copy must be of an original document containing a handwritten, ink signature, unless regulations or the form instructions state otherwise. USCIS will not accept signatures created by a typewriter, word processor, stamp, auto-pen, or similar device."

And here is what DOS says: Each applicant is required to bring the original version of all civil documents plus one photocopy of each document to the visa interview. You must also bring any required financial evidence provided by your petitioner. Failure to bring all required original documents and photocopies to the interview may cause delay or denial of the visa.

@Greenbaum Hello friend! Thank you for all of your help so far. I am confused as to the next steps while I wait for my NVC case # (NOA2 approved Sept 18)

The link you sent me for the Peru consulate had not been updated in many cases since 2014 (http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Peru&cty=Lima) but I did find this link that I believe gave up to date info about what to gather for the interview, and how to book his medical exam (https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/LMA_Lima.html#pre_interview_checklist). I hope it is the official requirements?

My question is - can I start to fill out our DS-160 now, before I get a case number? What else can we do while we are waiting for NVC

Thank you sooooo much!

Hey guys has anyone attended/attending the London interview have their partners going with them? I'm wondering how to notify the embassy in London of me (us petitioner) and our son joining my partner for his interview. Does anyone know the best way to go about this?

Thank you for the link. It is up to date as of May 2018 so I would use it.

The DS-160 for 99% of the Embassy's allow you to complete it at anytime. You do not have to wait for any signal. To answer "what else" check over all your documents to ensure they are accurate without wrong dates and names. Birth Certificates and Passports are always in question as everything is based off of the accuracy of those two pieces. If there is an error get it fixed now. Has your beneficiary lived in another country since age 16 for more then 6 months? If so they need a Police Certificate. Start gathering your financial information, see list below of what is needed. Determine what is needed for your medical and where you will have it completed. Look over the list of required documents contained within the link you posted. That's about it for now.

EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT. You should be able to demonstrate that you will not become a public charge or be a burden on the U.S. taxpayers for financial support. A completed I-134 Affidavit of Support Form K1/K2 Interview Preparation Instructions – English (February 2014) Page 3 of 9 with original signature will be useful to the consular officer to evaluate your petitioner’s ability to be financially responsible for you. You should also submit your petitioner’s most recent U.S. Federal income tax return (Form 1040) and wage statements (Form W-2). Employment letters stating salaries and bank statements may be included to substantiate the I-134.

Ask this question here for a complete and up to date answer. There are experts over in the sub-forum for your country located here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/99-united-kingdom/ This is where others from your country who are processing or those who have completed their interview and they can guide you on their experience. A TON of information and help there.
