Not everytime. For my case,  I paid with my mobile banking app and i used the generated receipt number to fix my appointment date almost immediately.

 

I know of someone who has been and is still waiting for a date for over a month now.  The consulate here is totally different 😥

I'm so envious of some of us here who can fix an appointment date anytime they like. 😂

All Consulates are different. They're just going to have to keep trying till slots open.

Hello everyone, I just (finally) received my NVC case number @Greenbaum, I see you know a lot!!, when should I expect my case to leave NVC? I have seen somewhere that they are sent in batches but I can't find when the next one is gonna be sent out! Thanks a lot for your help!

Next batch seems to be Oct 2 but that is only for those with "paper" cases and there are others who's case goes electronically. Don't have a clue which are which as it hasn't been published as "official".

 

If you haven't already here is some reading that can be done and with that some prep work you can be doing while you are waiting. Once you have received your P3 letter on what to do if you would be so kind as to send me a copy via VJ PM I use it for those who come behind you and currently have no information from Italy. Thanks.

oh ok! well my fiancé called today and the officer told him that it would have been shipped today to the embassy but to me that was too good to be true! isn' it?

Check ceac.state.gov, and enter your information. Choose "immigration" visa as that is how it is classified till after your interview then it switches back to a "non-immigrant" visa. The website will tell you the status of your case. I'm curious as to know what it says.

I believe it is your case number or our WAC #. Can you tell me section and question number and I'll look it up.

 

So a USCIS number either begins with 

 

– EAC – Vermont Service Center;

– VSC – Vermont Service Center;

– WAC – California Service Center;

– CSC – California Service Center;

– LIN – Nebraska Service Center;

– NSC – Nebraska Service Center;

– SRC – Texas Service Center;

– TSC – Texas Service Center;

– MSC – National Benefits Center;

– NBC – National Benefits Center;

– IOE – ELIS (e-Filing); and

– YSC – Potomac Service Center.

and ends with 10 numbers. The NVC case number is also a 13 digit number but beginning with the 3 letters of your Embassy. So you would enter the USCIS number when completing the DS-160.

Its the purpose of Trip section. The exact question is "Application receipt/petition number.

It is your WAC #, Case Number or blank as it has no baring on the K-1.
