Hi!

Currently I am filling in the DS-160. There is one question I am too unsure about.

"Have you belonged to, contributed to, or worked for any professional, social, or charitable organization?"

I have volunteered at a non-profit organization for 5 months in California.

So do I have to check 'yes' on this box or 'no'?

Thanks for the help!

Worked for includes volunteer work. So yes you do select "YES".

When paying for the DS160 does anyone know what the priority date is?

We've been given so many dates throughout this whole process..

Priority date is the RECEIVED date on your NOA1, that is what NVC states. But, the priority date is not used with the K-1 visa, you could enter any date you want and it wouldn't matter.

Everyone must go through a number of security background checks. Once they are done the adjudicator looks over your submitted application and the security information to make decision. Security checks are completed for everyone. Some take longer others are a little faster. That's the reason they are not in any order for approval.

USCIS records confirm that the referenced case is pending background check clearance. USCIS is committed to adjudicating immigration benefits in a timely manner while also ensuring public safety and national security. A small percentage of applications and petitions have unresolved background check issues that temporarily delay adjudication. Although USCIS makes every effort to resolve such cases promptly, USCIS is unable to speculate when the background check will be completed.

If a background check reveals an issue that may impact an applicant’s eligibility for the requested immigration benefit, further inquiry is needed. The inquiry may include an additional interview and/or contact with another agency for updates or more comprehensive information. Upon gathering and assessing all available information, USCIS will adjudicate the application as quickly as possible.

USCIS realizes that the constituent may be frustrated by the progress of their case. However, the agency must balance individual inconvenience against broader issues of public safety and national security.

Thank you for your answer. However, I have already received my noa2 so USCIS at this stage is no longer involved. My case has been approved 3 weeks ago and it did not even reach NVC yet, this is what scares me!

Is anyone still waiting for their approved case still to reach NVC?

My NOA2 date is Aug 22 and I just called NVC and they say it still hasn't arrived in NVC yet.

This is just so frustrating!

I feel you, I am getting so ansious. I see people with noa2s after mine getting case numbers and I feel so depressed! I hope you had some good news!

Has anyone’s status changed to “in transit” today?  Mine is still at NVC 🤔😡

Same here, eagerly waiting as well. Feels like back to checking the USCIS site to see if you're approved, haha.
