Hello , We received our approval today from new website... waiting for our NOA2 hard copy... How long will be take?

Currently it's been taking about 2 weeks for USCIS to send the file to NVC. Then it's been taking about 2-3 weeks for NVC to assign the case number. Then it's taking another 2-3 week depending on the Embassy to receive your case. Your mileage may vary!

Here is information that I have this comes from different sources but I am sure you will be able to piece it together where it will make sense.

http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Dominican%20Republic&cty=Santo%20Domingo

https://drive.google.com/file/d/17b9Xxvd_YAgCenc65GwkdDDO5-3NytY3/view?usp=sharing

After waiting for "something" finally on August 3, 2018 the Embassy at Santo Domingo notified us by email that we that we could start filing DS-160 and scheduling  VAC  and Consulate Appointments.  As stated before in these forums the Santo Doming Embassy does not mail packet #3.  However we expected some kind of notification by "snail" mail but got the email instead.  Still in doubt that the package was received electronically since NVC sent it on July 24 and the info was updated on July 25 with status Ready.  Now the CEAC shows that the case was updated on August 6.

Since both medical exam providers  Consultorios de Visa and Servicios Médicos Consulares list the appointment sheet (Hoja de Cita)   as a prerequisite you must schedule your appointments on the ustraveldocs.com/do website.  In order to do that you need the DS-160 confirmation number.

As stated in these forums be very VERY careful on creating your ustraveldocs (aka https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/applicanthome)  profile.  I won't spout the whole rant about the website.  Be mindful of two caveats: 1) Type the email exactly as it is.  One small typo will cause you not to receive anything since the profile will be created without the system validating the email first.  2)Never create more that one profile just to check out website user interaction.  I did both mistakes and had to call ustraveldocs and request that all 3 profiles (the first I created, the one with the typo in the email and the one with the correct email) be merged since I used the same beneficiary's data.  The system checks that and won't let you pay and schedule your appointments.  VAC appointment is on the last week of August and Embassy in mid September.  After we are done I will be updating our timeline.

Once we passed that hurdle we managed to fill and file DS-160 print in PDF the confirmation page.  We also printed in PDF the DS-160 already filled and filed.  By this week we hope to complete the medical and all requested documents. Know I will fill form I-134 as part of my files and wait patiently.

.

This is so helpful! Thank you.

Sorry if this is a stupid question and I’ve missed it on here but what do you mean by keep an eye on your case at CEAC? I thought you need the new case number to do that?

:oops:Please excuse the error in some information that I gave earlier today. Until such time that you receive your CASE NUMBER from NVC you will not be able to track your case while it's at USCIS or NVC. Once you are assigned a CN# then visit https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=o/iS8zDpeAKjMWCuebHqOw to follow your case throughout the journey.

It might sound stupid but is there a reason why we can’t schedule the interview before the case number?

Yes, because your file is now being handled with the case number and that is the way DOS has required the Embassy's to use it within their systems. The system is set up that they can keep the flow of cases so as no one causes a slow down. They need to keep things moving along. That's why you see the expiration date on your NOA2 is only 4 months. They want you to keep it moving.

Why are you asking?

Because I was thinkin on schedule my interview before the case number but I didn’t want to do something that will mess up the processs. Also bc because I’ve seen people scheduling before the case number.

Thank you! You are always helpful

It all depends on the Embassy. Read the Embassy instructions which I just posted on the top of this page at the second entry to Vee. I have never heard of that, that you can schedule without the case number. I'd be careful.

The web page timed out that I sent you to. Use the main landing page here https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/. Then use the link under "Immigrant" that says "Check my Visa Application Status". That should do it.
