Hi Y'all,

As the title says. My fiancé or now ex fiancé decided to withdraw our petition. We got it approved and the case was sent to the Embassy about a month ago. My ex who's the petitioner sent them a letter asking them to withdraw our petition and they confirmed they had received the letter.

My question is, how long would I have to wait to travel to the US again? I have a lot of friends from college that I would love to visit. I am assuming I will be able to travel on a regular WVP visa or tourist visa, but do I have to wait until I get a confirmation from them that they case has officially been withdrawn? If so, will I be able to check it online?

Thank you in advance!!

:D

you may have a problem at POE. you had immigrant intent and may need a B1/B2 visa now. you can see where your case it at the CEAC website. I am not sure if they will update it to refused or revoked or something that tells you if the k-1 is withdrawn

Would this apply for any future travels or any travel I would do now in the near future??

i assume yes. your best bet is to call the us embassy and ask if you need one (b1/b2 visa). This is the usual case for people who had immigrant intent.
