Possible RFE or a denial?

Hello, any advice would be much appreciated (though it might be pretty late now).

Our NO1 was received on 25th of April but only now did I notice that my fiance's ex-wife' s last name on divorce document is different than what he wrote on I-129f form.

Last name he wrote on I-129f is her maiden name and name that is written on divorce document is last name she used as her official and it is her first husband's last name( she kept her first husband's last name after her marriage to my fiance).

I am at work now and had to call my fiance to ask him about this, but he pointed out to me that on their divorce document under section 'Name Change Requested' she put her maiden name, meaning she chose to use that one as her official.

I am still very much scared now since the name she had at the time divorce was filed in, and the name on I-129f do not match. Do you think this might lead to RFE or a denial? I am so scared right now, sorry for my confused writing, hope I explained my problem. Thank you for any advice you might give.

I don't think it would be an issue.  I would believe this is something they run into frequently in terms of divorce documents.  If you wanted to be 100% sure you might want to seek a consultation from an immigration attorney.  Calling USCIS would be a waste of time as their customer service people really have no training when it comes to this kind of thing.  But I would doubt that alone would cause a denial.

I also agree this won't lead to an instant denial in any way. I really don't even think you will see an RFE over it. You included the divorce decree and my fiancee had to get me the same things and have them translated. I included her divorce papers and the name change certificate and even though I don't think there was an issue with the names, I got approval. I don't think that is a big concern for them because that is an easy verification with an online check to see if divorce is finalized.

Thank you for your replies, I really panic easily. Can't wait for this process to finish, it is as if every day I remember new things to worry about and it is exhausting.

I will tell him to look up for marriage certificate just in case it might be needed.

Thanks once again!

This is the easy part. The journey is just beginning!  Reading posts on VJ about pretty much anything will put your mind at ease. Any questions can be or have already been answered here. If USCIS needs any additional information, they will let you know and it won’t be hard to fix. You won’t be denied for this.
